this game is superr hard! its pretty cool though, i had fun managing my player vs the hundred threats going my way! lol
BRO
Super cool! The 3d effect manages to feel perfectly nes-plausible.
I think you should have used different colors for the devil’s fireball and the gargoyles, as is they blend into the tower.
But all in all, this is one the best of the jam.
Thank you all for taking the time to play and for your detailed feedback!
I realize that some aspects of the game could be explained more clearly your feedback will be very helpful for improving it in the future.
I'm glad that the game was generally well received despite these small flaws.
It's like every element of monster and nature is out to stop me from rescuing the princess! What is going on in this day and age.
This game has a very solid concept, dynamic and end result. Took a bit of figuring out at the end to win, (and at the beginning with all the times I fell off the wall), but it was definitely a fun play!
I beat the Games A & C.
The game looks, sounds, controls and feels like a NES game. I like the animation of the bat, the music perfectly fits the settings of the game and what you're doing, the controls feel good and the difficulty is perfect for the jam.
Great game!
My favourite game of the jam so far! This feels like I've reached the final boss of the game with no continues left and every movement and button press is carefully planned while the stress keeps rising as you get closer and closer to the top!
I like that you're an almost helpless hero, slowly climbing to the next safe spot while the odds are against you, but the princess is able to fight back. Navigating the tower while timing your princess orbs all while trying to keep moving keeps the pressure up. You really nailed the game mechanics - everything feels so carefully considered and tightly planned.
I also love the fake-3D spinning tower. It reminds me of the final level of Battletoads on the NES which has a similar effect, maybe why I felt so tense playing this game! Also good idea to randomise the tower for each playthrough so there's no predictable route.
Really impressed with this one - a perfect little game for the jam.

Nice! It took many tries, but I played this one to the finish on Level C (whew!) and had that nice feeling of completion from a difficult game. I was confused at first about what I was supposed to have the princess do with the yellow things and had several deaths at that point (I think I was pressing A a little ahead of time to hit the vampire on the run -- in reality, it was better to press it when he's right below -- and those near-misses were making me think he wasn't the target). It's an engaging game and you get into the flow of it, which is great, and after each death I wanted to jump right back in. Love the colors and background, too. Nice job!
This is simply amazing. It looks good, it plays good, it sounds good. Perhaps a bit lacking variety visually that's very noticeable in the long stage.
Not bad, but some tutorial would be better
Excellent Job on this one! I really like the NES feel and color palette. Had a lot of fun trying to find the optimal path.
Knocked it out of the park. Everything is bubbling with that insanely frustrating arcade gameplay that rings true to the NES' library. This perfectly encapsulates that "easy to pick up, difficult to master" kind of feel that I just absolutely adore.
Fantastic entry!
this is a 5/5 for me, difficulty but really fun, and it captures the nes feelin pretty well
It is a ton of fun after you get how it works. 100% would recommend.
Decent game. I had a lot more fun once I figured out I could hide in the windows
I had a lot of fun playing—it's such a simple concept and just really well executed on multiple fronts. One of my favorites so far. Thanks for making and sharing your game!
