Game Description
Shroomagedon, where fungi are all that remain. Battle your friends over a small patch of dwindling dirt!

How does your game tie into the theme?
We wanted to explore what makes a game feel chaotic over time (shrinking stages, music tempo increase, dynamic cameras) and give players some control over it though a chaos setting that will mess with their speed/knockback/animations. We additionally wanted to play on visual chaos with having each successful hit spread spores that paint the platform vibrant colors but ran out of time.

Excellent work, the animations are super cute and audio is great! I love that there’s a some coyote time, and they really wallop when those percentages are high!

Awesome submission! I was surprised you each created the art for one of the characters- their designs mesh together so well! Lots of great polish here, a very fun experience.

Developer

Thank you! Yeah bloopi made the blue mushroom person first and then I tried to make one in a similar style but my own spin!

I love the music! It's surprisingly pretty. I, unfortunately, don't have anyone around to play it with and just ended up exchanging hits with myself, but I can see how this could get crazy if you and your opponent are dashing around and blocking well. Great game! Love the music. Love the art!

I wanna revisit this when I have a friend over, the concept seems super fun! great job!

Developer

ooo would love to hear what you think if you do end up getting to play with a friend! Thanks for checking our game out :)

great idea but tough to play as a solo player! I loved the artwork and music though. I thought it was an interesting concept and got my son to play too!

Developer

haha i can't imagine playing solo is much fun, glad you got to play with your son! Thanks for playing!

I also didn't have anyone to play with, but enjoyed the graphics and the music!

Love the idea and the personality, had fun playing with my daughter.

Fantastic art, music, and controls. It works all very well together. I also enjoyed the chaos meter.

The controls felt good too.

I didn't have anyone to play with, but I know that this would be a great challenge.

The art on this game is stunning, lost of personality and creative charm shines through. Kudos for making a local co-op game, it's a leap of faith for a jam and it works well here. Controls felt really responsive especially with the parrying mechanic, which is very crucial for this style of game. Sound design is on point and fits well with rest of the vibe.

Developer

Wow thank you so much! Thanks for playing

Very nice art! Liked the idea as well, I'm sure it's fun to play with someone) Too bad I'm alone in the room.

thanks for checking it out regardless! Def will make think about how to make our jam submissions more accessible to play in the future!

Really impressive for the first game ever! Congrats! I played some matches with my girlfriend and we had a lot of fun! Only thing that made both of us a little bit motion sick / confused is the zoom in when standing next to each other. Keep it up! Hope to see you two in the next jam again :D

Developer

yay! I'm glad that you were able to play with another person and had fun :) , and note taken on the camera movement! We wanted to have it dynamic to increase the chaotic sense but def think an improved version of this game would tweak the camera movement to make motion sickness less likely.. somehow...  will def join a future jam n hope 2 see u too (rly enjoyed ur game)!

Congrats on your first Godot Wild Jam! I didn't have someone to play with, but it was fun playing around with it! I definitely smiled when I saw a "Chaos" bar in the Settings, I thought that was a cool touch. I also thought the dynamic camera was a cool idea.

Developer

Thanks for playing even solo! Totally wanna make sure to include a single player mode in the future (for some reason it didn't even cross our minds this time lol).

Didn't have anyone nearby to play it with, but the music & art style was really nice. Well done! :)

Developer(+1)

Thanks for playing! We didn't consider how only having 2 player experience might be inaccessible so sorry about that T.T (being a team of 2, i guess we just defaulted to 2 player gaming),  in the future will def include single player experiences!

The chaos meter setting is an interesting idea! Great art!

Developer

Thanks for checking out the game! Hope to finetune it more post-jam :)

I unfortunately didn't have anyone to play with but this is your first time with pixel art and first game? Wow! The art was really great and the game feels solid & polished. Really great first entry! I love the zoom-in when the players get close to each other.

Developer

Yeah, first time with pixel art and first game (tho I personally did find a godot course n watched a lotta youtube a month beforehand in preparation so didn't go in totally blind). Wow! Thank you for the comment! Much of the polish was done in those extra 24 hours haha.
