The movement can be quite fun if given the time I think. It is unfinished but still, nice try!

Cool art! I'm especially a fan of a solo dancing pink seaweed i came across while bouncing around. The movement in this game was really interesting in combination with all the obstacles, great job with implementing chaos! I kept holding down the movement keys out of habit which resulted in some really funny movement lol

Submitted

I really love this movement mechanic - it didn't take long to get used to it and once I did it was a lot of fun to move around the map. Great job!

Loved the physics in this! Very cool!

QWOPogo! And underwater!
Would enjoy bouncing off jellyfish again

so basically a movement game? I couldnt find a way to escape or anything? If so its pretty cool, took me some time to figure it out but it was fun

Developer(+1)

It's a movement game yeah, i yet again didn't do any tutorial on a jam but you need to feel the jump height, you can change the jump power by pressing up or down key. If you do you can escape the first room, it was intended to be a tutorial to move then jump over to continue, i'm planning to set a proper one soon. Thanks for giving a try

Loved the jellyfish animations and the controls get better as your learn to play and explore

Developer

Thanks, i tried to make the controls easy to learn but hard to master. I'm glad you liked the jellyfish

You got the great idea for a mechanic in the game,  Once I figured it out, I had quite a bit of fun exploring. The seaweed was great. Art is good, especially if you can expand on your jelly fish seaweed combo.

Developer

Thanks ! I'm going to add a better introduction on the controls in the futur to let people figured it more easily. I'm happy you liked the art but i'm not really fond of it since it still need a bit of polish liked the bubble especially. And i'm quite free around the color and shape of the seaweed and jellyfish tendrils since i used Line2D to draw them ^^

The mechanic is great! It took me a while when once I get used to the mechanic I was able to move around the map as I pleased. I had fun playing this! thanks for the entry and well done!

Developer

Thanks i'm happy to hear that !

Really fun game, However i think that, in a game, you should NEVER scale your art, it will almost always look bad.

Developer

I agree yeah, or at least, not scaling THAT much i did overscale and i need better sprite to avoide it looking that bad. I was really short on my available time so i kind of rush the level design and sprite, so i went for the fastest way wich was scalling already used assets. It's like placeholder for now. thanks for playing i'm glad you still find it fun.

The seaweed and tendrils are beautifully animated and fun to pogo into!

Developer

Thanks i'm glad you enjoyed it !

I actually really liked the animation for the large jellyfish, and I think the idea of a pogostick-related platformer is a fun and unique idea

Developer

I'm glad you like it, i'm not that much of an artist so animation is still hard for me to do. I also like my idea of a pogo stic. This game is the one i have the most fun doing over all my mini-project so i thinks i'm going to pursue developping it further

I love the seaweed physics and behavior; I spent a lot of time climbing through them and bouncing around. Just a heads up, I think there's a typo on the page about the controls (Q, D to rotate, etc.). Nice work!

Developer

Oh yeah true, i used an azerty keyboard so Q is the place where A is on qwerty, sometimes i forgot about that my bad, thanks for letting me know. I also like the seaweed a lot, most of the times i'm in there too.  Thanks!

Definitely has the bones of something really great. It was super satisfying bouncing around the level, and the dangling kelp made for some really great interactions. Would love to see different intractable objects, but I think you did a great job with the base physics engine.

Developer(+1)

Thanks for your kind word! I’m planning to continue working on it after the jam, though at a slower pace since I’ll be busy over the next few months but i'm going to add more things in the futur. Also  it's my first time working that much on physics and i found out that it can be a real headache with performance(i have a potato PC so i encounter them quite easily) and other potential issue. I'm really happy you found it satisfying ^^ Thanks for playing !

My favorite subgenre of games: bouncing really fast! Honestly, it was really satisfying to fly through the map smoothly. I hit a point on the air bubbles were I was perfectly skimming the top of them just at my jump apex and it was *chefs kiss*. Physics got kinda wonky in the kelp, but I actually enjoyed that; it felt like I was tangled up and fighting against the flora.

Developer

It was quite hard to tweak the seaweed/kelp just right because I wanted the player to be able to pass through it when moving fast enough. It was my first time playing around with physics like that, so I’m really glad you enjoyed the kelp wonkiness.
