Game's Take on the Theme
My game is a roguelike bullet hell that happens inside the casino of a virtual reality world. Eveything spins, the bullets, the character (has to spin in some ways to dodge the bullets), the selection of bosses is a slot machine, the upgrade system is a pachinko, and there's also a "story spin" at the end with the final boss. :)

Did your team make the majority of the art and music during the jam?
Yes, I did everything myself, including the music and the art. :)

This is SUCH a speedrunnable game, great call on having the leaderboard there. I really appreciate the balancing here, it feels very much like the right difficulty for a jam game, where it's not particularly tough, but losing is a big loss in progress which balances out the consequences. I will say I can't tell whether I was in flow state or if I was going through the motions for some of the fights, because I honestly zoned out during the latter half of quite a few of them since I wasn't in any real risk of ever losing and the bosses never changed up their patterns as the fights went along. I do get why they didn't though, because that type of dynamically changing boss design isn't as cohesive with the aesthetic as the current approach to boss design you currently have

So glad you enjoyed it! yeah, theres a lot of people saying the game is too easy, but it was actually intended for the jam version of the game, I feel like in jams people prefer easy games that they are able to finish in a few minites than harder games that they cannot complete if they want to vote other titles so I thought on making it very easy. I will update the game once the jam is over to increase the difficulty and make it a bit more challenging, also, changing the patterns and attacks some bosses have, and making more attacks other than just shooting bullets. Incredible game! One of the best I've played, honestly :D

I loved trying to speedrun this! (I can't believe someone managed to speedrun it in about 6min!)

Everything is really great: the bosses are very well thought out, the skill lottery is brilliant, the graphics are great, the music too, the tutorial is superb! In short, a huge bravo for this masterclass!

This is absolutely fantastic and easily one of my favourites of this jam.

The presentation, UI, art and music are all ace but the playing the game is so much fun.

The tombola is such a great way to do rouge type stat increases and I would get excited when one of the yellows would hit.

You did such a great job, well done!

What a great fun and simple game with excellent art and sound by one person! It has a fresh vibe, and you have a radio to play the songs, excellent UI. I got the yellow ball right before the end boss! Congrats on submission! Feel free to try our game if you like!

Very simple and fun. The bosses were really easy so I would have liked a difficulty scale a bit. For over half the bosses I just stat checked them standing still and shooting. I think that is a product of many of the bosses being almost identical in their attacks. Best bosses were lust and envy because they forced you move around and dodge to avoid damage. I really like the vibe of the game and the simple upgrade system was nice.

Funnily enough my game has a similar premise where you fight through the circles of hell (from dante's inferno) so kinda the same vibe as fighting the deadly sins.

Awesome job! Loved the artstyle, so minimalist! The upgrades are fun, just kept shooting close to the final boss face to melt him hahaha.

This is a very nicely made game, it has polish and everything is smooth. I really like how satisfying it is to spin the wheels to either choose a boss or an upgrade. Additionally, all of the boss attacks were interesting and balanced. Good job on this entry!

This exactly what it says on the tin and by all accounts that is great. It's not trying to be anything crazy or revolutionary, it's an arcade-style bullet hell with a loose upgrade system and a boss gauntlet that varies slightly between runs. Music fits the vibe, though it is a little repetitive, and combat doesn't feel punishing. Some bosses (Wrath and Envy) were harder than others (Greed and Lust), but all in all pretty solid, if a little bare in terms of attack variety for a given boss. Gonna be honest, plot twist did get me. I had already been asking "Wait, aren't there seven?" on the fifth boss, and the reveal was done tastefully without unnecessary flourish, the absence and quick transition spoke louder than a screaming in your face "BWAHAHA I'M GONNA PRIDE ALL OVER THE PLACE" lmao
A shame I never got a gold capsule. Great job and great game!

Quite nice, very well polished, and great presentation. Always nice to see solo devs, especially when it's a really competent game all around like this, lol.

I feel like the controls and actual combat still feel a little bare, though. Not everything needs to have four different resource gauges and complex mechanics, but it starts off quite slow and the bosses are fairly limited in what they can do. Some differentiation in the upgrades besides "walking and attacking faster", and possibly evolving patterns for the bosses, would really do wonders here!

Also the bosses will have more attacks besides just shooting bullets. Glad you enjoyed the experience and had a good time with my game tho, truly appreciate it <3

Fun, and I did like the boss designs and the 8bit art/music styles!

Would have liked a different take on the theme, and don't take me wrong, its just that this is like the fifth game of the genre I played for this jam with almost the same use of the theme and its getting a bit old..

then again, solo dev? really nice job!

Those Earthbound looking backgrounds behind the main game frame look dope! Those really add onto the already good looking and expressive visuals and catchy soundtrack. The gameplay is also balanced with the bosses and the random upgrades, which makes the game feel fair yet intense. Overall, I had a lot of fun with this game.

Heartbreaking ending... What have I done....

Really neat how much content you managed to pack in here without sacrificing quality on anything. I appreciate the reroll mechanic and I absolutely loved the transition screens. So pleasing to look at!

Nice visual effects there! The style is great, I love it.

I was very restricted at the beginning, and only after getting +100% speed the game started to feel right. But that's for the rogue-likes in general, I guess, to gradually give abilities that would normally be there by default.

Attack patterns were not very predictable at some times, but that was compensated with a smart choice of having plenty of health.

And it is super cool that you made it all as a solo dev! ¦3

Yeah I tought about the speed too but after trial en error so many times I decided to left it as it is, so that it doesnt get too speedy if you got too many speed items. This game is very charming. It's gotta a lot of style that fits really well together. The little loading/intro scenes with the wave in the background is especially cool. 

The concept of rolling a slot machine to be able to choose between a couple of different bosses was pretty interesting, as well as the power up tombola. Although I did find myself getting frustrated if I only got one power up option, so I'm glad that there was a reroll.
The bosses were fun and even more fun once I had a little bit of speed. Although I do wish that they had more attack patterns than just two different types of projectiles. The final boss twist was neat, I'm glad that it had a little bit personality/story thrown into it.
