Mom I think I'm ready to play Touhou now.
Anyways I do like the concepts presented here in this game, they're very clever spins on the genre although it does get a little bit more difficult towards the middle.
Controls are simple and react fine, no complaints about that.
Overall a solid game jam game with nice gimmicks to spice it up a bit
I loved the bullet patterns and the first part of the game plays really smooth. After the grid restriction was added it became cumbersome to spam the keys, but still fun to play.
The controls feel good and every thing looks nice but the game play isn't very forgiving when it comes to long strings of attacks. The game could use some power ups or health items, but overall really good.
Game is amazing, please make It a wee bit easier.
Pico 8! <3
This has everything that a space shooter needs: Good soundtrack, nice graphics, snappy controls, satisfying shooting sound. The last waves are quite hard though, but definitely fun!
Really enjoyable shooter! Graphics, sound, and gameplay were all very solid and consistent. The surprise was good, but also very frutrating. Really liked it overall!
I love this game! (My time was 295.5s)
This is really fun! I hope you continue to work on it after the jam
Pico8 is a really fun platform :-) I enjoyed the graphics and sound, but some of the stages felt a little bit unfair. The dialogue was well written and made me chuckle.
Quite fun, not to difficult that you get annoyed but hard enough that you have fun trying to defeat the various bosses.
Really fun little arcade shooter. I like that the whole game is one big boss fight, very cool. Good job!

This game really feels like an arcade game, music and art were on point, writing was fine for the premise and I liked how you switched the enemies up a lot. It may be a little hard for players new to this genre, very good entry though.
Really good. I was replaying the first level (because I suck) having a great time and thinking up a wishlist of things to add, and then the second level came along and changed the character movement and enemy shooting style! Really kept it alive, very cool. I'm unfortunately not good enough to get past the second enemy though!
Apparently I suck! But the game is good, feels nice, looks nice, sounds nice!
oooh… pico8… interesting. A fine game for the platform, worthy of a rating. Thought I have to agree with several other comments and dock for the extended unskipable dialog.
Pretty cool. Difficulty ramps way up!
How to not avoid a GameJam comment. I am not a fan of dialogues but you definitely parked your game too long here so you will get a comment ;)
I can only agree to Maz. I didn't make it past the first boss and the second or third stage don't know what is up with my skill there :) But the skill of FancyHat is definitely reachable it seems, mhh. But anyways, this is a complete game in itself with dialogues and no bugs (at least that I found). Art gameplay style and goofiness of the dialogue are harmonious. Well Done!
It's very nice! I'm not very good at these games though so I didn't get past the third stage of the car.
I recently saw some videos on pico-8 and instantly recognized the style. Pretty cool that you made a jam game on it and it does feel really nice. Graphics are beautiful and clean, game feel is there as well. I would say there's a bit much text, but I see how it is important for the story and ads some humor as well. Controls seemed a bit weird on the second characte, not sure if that was intentional. Gameplay wise I did enjoy this bullet hell style game, enemies had a lot of variety and each stage had its own unique way of beating it. Challenge seemed to be well balanced as well. Overall I enjoyed this game quite a lot, could easily mistaken this for old arcade game.
