Really cool idea, incredibly creative! Having an Ai occasionally control the character is a very inventive spin on the theme and I absolutely love it, ’cause it allows for a lot of emergent storytelling and even power-fantasy if used correctly: it really is so cool activating the robot-legs and seeing your character dash away from bullets like Neo in Matrix! On that regard, I would have liked if the Ai power bar charged a bit more quickly allowing the player to expolit these powers even more frequently since they are so fun to see in action! ^-^

Unfortunately, the Ai is so so cool when it works but can be frustrating when it doesn’t, considering the game is already pretty difficult: I’ve found myself stuck on a wall under enemy fire, getting immediately killed and being forced to restart from the very beginning; on that note, not having checkpoints at the end of each level is really a bit frustrating.

While the visuals and the music are overall very pleasing, the controls are bit rough and sluggish and they further exacerbate the difficulty of the game: don’t get me wrong, nothing that can’t be fixed with a little rework of the player controller! :)

The last thing I’ll say is that I’ve found a little bug: sometimes, when traversing a door that leads to a chamber with enemies, you can get pushed in the wall and get stuck there, meaning you have to restart everything.

Overall a really fun experience with a brilliant idea: I look forward to a refined after-jam version, if there will ever be one! <3

Thanks! At first thought it must be a roguelike game, but I wouldn't have finished that in time( Maybe I will try to make it roguelike again so there will be more enemies = more energy and some augmentations so AI mechanic will be used more often and will have more depth.

Well Done! I really liked the concept and visuals and how you fit the theme in the gameplay!

The visuals, ui, and music were well done. The currently playing pop-up was a nice touch, as well.

However, I kept getting stuck in the walls: 1) when the gates close behind you, it can trap you. 2) squeezing between 2 walls that are too close together can trap you. Maybe I'm just unlucky, but I kept soft-locking myself on the physics.

The movement is also a bit loose and I didn't understand the ai mechanics. I saw an auto-aim show up, but there's not much feedback to show how to get to that state or what it does.

Developer(+1)

Thanks, I can't add anything about the physics, that's just part that needs to be worked on the most. About AI - it activates as super-ability consuming 1 energy and randomly selects the mechanic (aim + attack, movement, dashing) it will control for short period.

Decently enjoyable combat game

  • The AI voices are cool when you get kills
  • The movement is kind of slippery, makes it hard to be precise
  • Would be cool to see more enemies and weapons

Has good potential! Keep it up

Developer

Thanks, I don't know if I would really keep it up, but I had already decided to make it my training playground, will see how it will come out.

I had fun playing the game. Nice work on the aesthetics of the game. The player seems to be struck sometimes but a nice entry for the jam.

The music is awesome! The movement however works agains the player most of the time =(

cool the art is great i have some problems with the movement tho it's way too slippery and i got stuck inside a door once, other than the issues this game is pretty cool!

Developer

Yeah, I tried using physics-based movement, but overestimated my ability to handle it, way to go)

That was a really cool way to implement the theme! As an ability with cooldown, I expected the AI to be a bit stronger, I still used it when I could. It was a bit buggy though, I got stuck at the laser gates and similar.

Developer

Thanks, I wanted to implement this idea cause it felt fresh for me, however it also made it raw, AI part really needs to be stronger to be useful.

I did not really get the idea of what the AI does, but the game seems to be fun

Developer(+1)

AI is fused into the cyborg. When the cyborg gets enough energy he can ask for AI's help and it will take over one of the actions attack, movement or dash. Glad it was fun)

Nice game for a game jam

Love the vapor wave aesthetic! good work :)

Developer

Yeah, I think vapor wave does great in creating wowie effect, response to the player is pretty strong (Hotline Miami, Katana Zero).

Awesome! I really love the atmosphere and vibes that this game gives off, and I like how the game controls are naturally drawn on the floor of the ingame world instead of just dryly displayed on a menu, it looks stylish - great job!

Developer

Thanks! About controls, I thought about something like tutorial level, but it was pretty time-consuming and as it turned out mechanics are pretty clear so they don't need that much explanation.

Submitted

Yeah, a tutorial would have been my first go-to idea, but I actually think this is even cooler! It really integrated well with the first level in general because, as you said, it wasn't too complicated overall.

Had fun playing! But sometimes I got stuck in the laserwall ^^

NICE JOB! :D I would improve controls, it feels like playing on ice at the moment :) Well done either way <3

Developer(+1)

Thanks, I've noticed that I'm usually trying to make games not really much based on movement, so it was also an exercise for it, maybe I will make some polishing after the jam)
