this game has great concept and idea but it has one thing that just makes it boring. You have to always walk from beginner and its pretty slow and boring and its the main problem of the game.  I think you didnt playtest enough to realize how boring it is. But dont worry, just remember to playtest more next time. And otherwise its nice game

Developer

Thank you! Honestly, I’m just proud that I made the game on time, and didn’t really care whether it was that fun. Looking back at the comments, I probably should’ve added more lives or a checkpoint system.

Submitted

Yeah making games is point of jams and if you manage finish a game youre already a winner. Keep that mindset, its good mindset to have!

The particles do not really match the colors of the maze and the characters elsewhise pretty Good :D I like it

Developer(+1)

Haha the particles were actually from the prototype art, and I decided to keep the color so that it pops. Looks like it wasn’t that great of a decision...

I love the visuals and soundtrack. The gameplay could use a tutorial but I really enjoyed the chill mode. Nice work!

Developer

Thank you!

I liked the idea, but I was pretty nonplussed with the game for a good while, and probably still am. I think a more in-depth tutorial would be nice. But I liked the concept, good work!

Developer

Thank you!

I think this has good roots, I think there should be a way to set a spawn point on the map so I dont have to spend a huge amount of time back tracking to t a spot way further in the maze. you could even have it as a pickup or something. I think you did a good job on the map generation, it didnt seem to break for me. good job.

A cool touch on classic pac man

Maybe a bit too complex, but I liked it being challenging

Developer

Thank you!

Nice game, it's just boring to do all the path each time. You should be able to open shortcut or somethings like that

Developer

Thank you for the feedback!

Submitted

bro, it's kinda complicated I wish you put an in-game tutorial

Developer(+1)

I kind of agree... Most comments are about how it’s complicated. Should have focused on the tutorial more.

I played the chill mode for a bit, it was chill. It's cool when games give you that choice

Developer

Thank you!

Cool game! it is kinda hard to know what is happening though

It took me a while to figure what to do, but overall funny game :)

music and visuals were great

Liked the auto-generated levels, fun music too. Maybe an auto-respawn could work well here, maybe also a respawn location at the halfway point when you reach it (checkpoint) so you don't have to track through the whole maze every time. Took me a while to figure out what buttons to press - maybe you can add controls in the description. Good job though!

Developer (1 edit)

Thank you! The controls are in the description, though... Maybe it’s because it seemed more like a wall of text that you didn’t notice it? I’m sorry if that’s the case (I’m going to change that)

I really liked the sound effects, music, and visuals. however, repeating the same linear path multiple times is kind of irritating. I don't mind that if there's something new every time but it's not

Developer(+1)

Do you mean the procedural generation with about the same difficulty? Or is it a bug when it doesn't update?

Submitted

I didn't know how to play, haha. But otherwise very cute art and the mazes were impressive!

Very cool little game! A tutorial would be nice as the game is a little confusing. I also think that starting out with some smaller mazes would be help. Also, I really like the music! All in all, great submission!

Developer

I added the controls in the description! (I wrote it in the comments, but it seems like nobody checks that)

Submitted

really nice but a bit confusing in the beginning cause there is no tutorial and the pause menu in the chill mode does not work

Developer

Ohh noo…

Developer (2 edits) (+1)

Controls: Arrow keys to move, escape to pause, k to ... kill yourself, e to end turn and r to respawn. Also, you don’t HAVE to kill the enemies, just a little challenge if you want. Killing yourself leaves a spike where you are, and an enemy who sees it will follow and suicide.

I was also quite confused at the beginning, some explanation would be nice.

I did go to the casual mode, which is chill and impressive you managed to do procedural generation in a jam.

Well done!

Developer (2 edits) (+1)

It was actually pretty late, and I skipped that part (and didn’t make an in-game tutorial). I was going to do comment that today (which is how I read the comments). That’s allowed, as I’m not changing the actual game, right? Also, I didn’t do the procedural generation. It’s from a tutorial by kidscancode, as in the credits (escape to pause).

Nice art style. However i didn't know what to do at the beginning. Maybe build a little story or tutotial i for example have. I can give you the code if you want.
