This game is made pretty well; The colours and the lighting effect makes the simple graphics look pretty good, also the platforming feels better than a lot of other games I've played in the jam. However I have a couple problems with it: first of all, since the only mechanic is the cloning it is sort of repetitive. Also if it's cloning is it really failing? I guess it is in the sense that you have to redo the level, but it just seems like a method of progressing when you word it like that.

Very simple, clean graphics, but a bit repetitive.

My favorite thing about this game is how versatile this mechanic is. I realized that with the power to create a square anywhere, all the levels have an infinite number of solutions, sometimes I could even find solutions that were quicker than what you had intended. With some more diverse levels with unclear paths to the end, I could see this being a really fun game for speed runners! A timer and high score board would make this super fun! :)

Very simplistic game, the game is very nicely done, the only things that i dont like about it is the repetitive levels and the loudness of the jump sound effect, its a bit loud, other than that its a great game for a game jam!

Pretty nice game. You have nice visuals, i like the raycast light!!! I like the idea. Ouch to my ears! Make music quiter.

Pretty polished game, the good ole pleasing palette with minimalist graphics and square player character never fails to disappoint. I don't think this game does anything particularly interesting with the "corpses are platforms" concept, since the levels all boil down to "play through most of the level, clone, then play through it again but make the jump this time". That said, what the game does, it does it well. The platformer controls are tight, and the platforming is pretty fun at times. It is also cool how the cube fades to black to match the terrain. Great job on your first game jam though! It's good to start simple

Fun game, short and sweet, good job :D

Pretty fun, but unfortunately pretty repetitive. The visuals are really cool though. Good job!

well done! I like how its possible to complete levels in different ways, gives a sense of creativity and freedom

nice logo you got there 👀

its not really failure is progress, if you just have a place block button that also erases your progress.

that said, the platforming feels very good, and the game has great style with the lighting and color choice

good music & good concept, but it doesn’t really follow the topic, & the game is very repetitive, & the levles kinda look the same, the controlls … For a platformer in my openion, Using Arrow keys is much Much better the WASD keys, i wished you at least let us use Arrow keys, but thats ok.

Good concept, kinda ok game, but not so great in levels & topic.

if you don’t mind it can you check my game pls ?

I was about to write exactly what wonrzrzeczny wrote below me.

I will add that I love the fact that you had planned two different ways to approach certain levels. That's something I really like in video games.

Well done!

Surprisingly smooth and responsive movement - great job at that! Also, liked the simplicity and neat minimalistic visuals.

Unfortunatelly, as some people have already pointed out, the game becomes repetitive and a bit tedious pretty quickly. The ability to turn yourself into a block and start over is very interesting at core, and seems like a thing upon which you could build some really interesting mechanics - sadly, you didn't use its full potential.

I'm sorry if my criticism sounds harsh - it's still a pretty good submission compared to whole load of other entries in this jam! The game is overall very well-made and feels and looks really polished. I would just really, really advise you to take more "creative risks" when it comes to making a jam game in the future :)

No worries, thanks for the feedback!
This was my first game jam and also my first time using godot so I thought it would be smarter to go with a simple project to start out with.

It was funny to play! Nice art! Good job!

Please check my game as well ;)

Fun game. Like the graphics especially the light and shadows they were not overdone or distracting and gave the game a nice visual flavor. Liked the thanks for playing screen was also a completable level. Controls were responsive and if a jump was too hard(keep slipping off) I can add a block there to make it easier (emergent difficulty)

Simple, but fun game! Love the aesthetics of the game! Maybe you could add some reward mechanics to keep to player motivated to complete further levels. On the whole well done!

I've made my first godot game too :) you may try it here:

Nice! Got a little repetitive towards the end, having to do the same level, but still very fun.
