The visuals and music are simple but very polished, which makes it look really clean. I liked little things like shadows being under each sprite, the enemies rotating back and forth, the warmth bar changing gradients as it got colder. I also liked the satisfying sound effects. I agree with the others that there was some depth in gameplay that could definitely be expanded on more. I appreciate that enemies dropped wood in case the player miscalculated and accidentally deforested too far. That might be a mechanic that you could use intentionally to beat some levels. Overall, very cozy game with the win progress very clearly indicated from the beginning, so good to finish in a sitting.
Very fun, I like wave based game so it was enjoyable. Though I feel perhaps changing the button for holding the ogs could be different, it felt akward using E, also perhaps allowing it so that holding down the mouse button does the action automatically could help. Still it was very fun.
your game is quite well done, it has a frenetic gameplay and it is short, very good job!
There are some really interesting dynamics at play here. Preemptively chopping down wood and storing it near the fire, baiting enemies away from the fire, and setting up in between waves were notable examples. I think there could be a bit more depth to combat, like being able to throw the logs at enemies or different enemy patterns (some shoot projectiles, some emerge from trees when chopped down). Overall you did a good job!
I survived! This was a really fun game! Simple concept executed very well. There could have been more sounds and particle effects, but thats just me. Amazing game, well done!
It is simple but a fun concept. I wish there was a bit more to the environment since it can be repetitive to look at. I like the idea of chopping the wood down and feeding the fire while fighting enemies, I think it would be more fun was a ranged weapons too and I had some difficulty with hitting some enemies accurately with the slash depending on the angle I was on but overall it was a nice little game. If you get the chance checkout my submission.
very fun and challenging game, it's a game that makes you want to finish it. fun central mechanic, the right level of difficulty, overall, just really fun to play.
it was fun and strategic to have to kill enemies and keep the bonfire going.
I managed to beat it! Nice game, very polished, though I didn't realise until the end that your axe moves with your mouse (I thought it was click only) - it might be worth specifying that in the description. 😅 Also appreciated how enemies sometimes dropped logs too. Great work!
The process of cutting down trees while fighting enemies, distracting enemies while reviving the fire, was really fun. This was definitely a good mechanic!
On the downside: this game needs more! If you could correct this: maybe by boosting the final speed of the enemies; or (the main thing:) adding another layer. I would love it if there was some extra annoyance, something to push your brain in its creative, meditative powers!
Thanks for the feedback. I have to say it's kinda hard to balance the mechanic. I had the time you add with logs lower before but I couldn't eat the game anymore. Was thinking of different enemies, but again the difficulty curve could be messed up easily. I did want a final boss for the last wave that shoots projectiles at the fire. But I don't have enough time to work on it anymore. :(
Ah, well that makes sense. Well, this is a pretty cool entry. (even finishing a game is impressive.)

Yay, I deforested an entire forest :D
I think the theme of multitasking has a lot of potential... I bet this concept could get very chaotic (in a good way) if it had, say, more chores to complete or distinct enemy behaviors. I liked the particles and SFX when depositing logs, it's very satisfying :)
Haha glad you liked it. I was thinking about trees that grow back or just cut an entire forest. Chose the 2nd option so you can prepare for waves. Nice that you finished it!!
