Nice little game! I loved the music and the cute kangaroos it really gave it the outback feel! Finished without killing the kangaroos :D. Couple of bugs I encountered were falling forever and having the kangaroo hitboxes not hurt me everytime if I ran through them. Also when turning down music or sfx in the menu you have to drag from 3/4 of the bar to turn it down as anywhere before does not register. Apart from the bugs this is a very cool game with very good music. Well done!

Thanks for the feedback! Yeah I had some trouble with collisions with the kangaroos and the collision that is supposed to kill you if you fall off the map. The slider's were all being weird I could not figure out why you have to click 3/4 of the way up the bar to move it. I honestly should have swapped it with just a number setting or something. All things I plan on fixing after the jam is over.

I know unity can be a bit dull with colliders and ui sometimes so if you were using it then I understand haha. Good to know you have a post jam plan! Good luck! :D

I loved that Didgeridoo! Not sure why are killing kangaroos but who cares! Very unique and intentionally odd art style. I think you guys did a fantastic job making something that sticks in someone's head.

Didgeridoo.

Thanks for the love man! I agree - more digeridoo!

Thank you for the feedback and posting a video! so cool to watch someone else play our game. Everything you said is absolutely right. some of the hitboxes are kind of weird and when you fell offthe map, there actually is a death box there which is why you stopped falling but its not killing you for some reason. It seems like that's the only part of the map where you don't die if you fall off.

A very polished game.

We had the boomerang idea too but at the end we thought about something else, anyway its nice to see that someone actually did a bumerang game and I think you did it pretty well. Good job!

It'll be nice if you check out our game too (:

Thanks for the comment! I'll be sure to check out your game :)

I really enjoyed this one! Collecting keys is always fun and I absolutely *loved* the music! I would have liked some audio/visual/mechanic feedback when you get hurt by the kangaroos, but a great fun game overall! Well done.

There actually is a sound effect but I don't think I balanced the sounds very well. I also meant to add a visual cue for taking damage but ran out of time.

Nice game! Even if it was a short platformer game I really enjoyed it a lot, the colors were so fun to see, the colors used made it fun for me!

At first when started I didn't know I was getting hurt, because I couldn't hear the sound effect, but noticed it was there just to low in comparison with music.

Overall great job! Its a really fun game. Congrats on your entry!

Pro tip creating a new 2d material with the friction of 0 solves the sticking to walls problem :)

Pretty fun game i especily loved kangross :D Maybe speeding up the boomerang come speed can improve the game.Other than these great work :)

Developer(+1)

funnily enough I actually added a material to the player with zero friction to the player but still had that problem. Maybe I needed to add it to the walls as well.

Also I think you're right the  boomerang was tad slow. This was personally my first game jam and I ended up spending a lot more time getting the mechanics working than I did designing the level. I also didn't spend much time fine tuning the game feel but its definitely something I want to come back to.

Nice game. Like the art and the music fits it well. Liked the use of the theme.  The main problem I had was that I fell off the bottom a few times and just kept falling. I had to quit back to menu to start again.

Developer(+1)

yeah we used a box collider below the map to kill the player when they fell off but the it didn't seem to work in some spots, never did get it figured out.

Dang! Unity triggers can be so fickle sometimes. Thanks for bringing it up! We can fix it up for the next project or if we come back to this :)

I did the same for my project. They can be tricky buggers in unity!

Cool game! the art is cute. The only thing is that the jump is a bit floaty But overall great game!

Yeah I agree I could that the movement physics could use a little bit of work.
