Best fever dream I’ve ever had! Absolutely fantastic attention to atmosphere with the sound implementation and visuals. The writing was very engaging as well. Made me laugh, made me uneasy (good) and made me think (also good!). Had a great time with this one, already wanna play it again!

Wow. Definitely not where I thought things were going, but fantastic nonetheless. Loved being submerged (ha) in this metaphorical world - it made a huge impression!

LOL this was not where I expected it to go but I really enjoyed this game!!! genuinely adore the visuals of the spooky crabs filling the entire screen.
I really like your style of writing,  it's really engaging and kept me hooked! I don't want to directly quote some of the lines here in fear of spoilers but some of them were metal af

Also really enjoyed your use of sound in this game, really good ambiance!

Developer

Thank you so much, I'm grateful for the kind words : ) "metal af" is among the highest compliments, bless you

Damn, this places this went. You picked such an interesting and visceral metaphor and fully sprinted with it- I feel like I’ll have to play it again to see what I catch the second time, and think over it longer still. Awesome work!

Developer(+1)

thank you so so much! i'm glad the game's got stuff worth chewing on : )

Jam Host(+1)

Well now I want to eat crab rolls during my next play through. Would that be too gauche?

Developer(+1)

Frankly it would be disrespectful if you didn’t

Host(+1)

I was engrossed the whole time. Many people struggle to balance the line between pretentious writing and meaningful writing, but you nail it perfectly. Great job.

Developer

thank you! means the world : )

hello fellow ambience enjoyer. i see you at work.

this is definitely one of the few games i've been thoroughly and utterly bamboozled by. kudos for that alone. however, SUCH an impressive soundscape on display and i adore so many visual elements that really make this story feel alive, pulsing, and present. the pause/preference menu made me laugh when i looked closer. there's so much personality jam packed into the short but laser-guided interactions that each choice really felt like it held a tremendous weight, making replaying an absolute joy (darn the clever self-exiting... but what a nice, clean touch)

the absurdity of the situation/presentation mixed with dead serious real-life parallel phrases and mindset is a genius combo that i'm a sucker for. advice from a crab? sign me up. this game was a real treat to a friend watching with a special interest in crabs :)

Your kindness humbles me 😌 especially such kindness from the ambience maestro

This was fantastic! I went in thoroughly unprepared and would have it no other way.

Developer(+1)

I’m so glad to hear it 😌 thank you so much!

Loved it. Was weird and goofy and meta in all the best ways. Not only that but it does show the hold that office life and society has us in, and now I feel very crabby. Aside from the story itself, the sound from this game is one of my favorites that I got to experience. It contributed so much to the experience and I found myself uncomfortable yet listening for more. Thank you for the crab game >:)

Developer(+1)

You're welcome for the crab game >: ) Thank you for the kind words!! Sound design was the most fun I had on this jam, I think. Finding new off-putting crunchy sounds was a lot of fun.

The entire thing feels like a fever dream, and I mean it with all of affection and respect. The use of the crabs in a bucket imagery and the title in the context of office culture makes the message pretty clear, while still not being overly blunt, which I always enjoy. I think I need to sit with this game for a while, it's been An Experience

Developer

Thanks for taking the time to play it and for the kind words! Sorry-not-sorry for the lingering feelings : )

I laughed, I cried, I got invested in a corporate space rife with hijinks and cutting interactions. This might have to be my favorite use of the theme yet, and "bushed" is going to promptly be added to my personal lexicon starting now! V.v.V

Developer(+1)

I would describe my feelings on the final day of the jam as very much "bushed" : )

First, you've customised all the UI, and that allows the game to be its own little world, and not just another game under Ren'Py.

Second, as a non-native speaker, I had to use the dictionary several times (not for crab parts, I'm a biologist :) ). But that's good, it shows that you have ambition for your reader by offering something that isn't generic!

And, good luck at work.

Developer

If it's any consolation I also had to use the dictionary several times! I'm glad the game's opaqueness gives it some texture at the very least. I had too many talented GUI artists looking over my shoulder to let me keep the default Ren'Py UI, and I'm grateful for it.

I'm absolutely obsessed with this actually. What a wild ride

Thank you kindly!

I think this is why I stopped working in an office. What a fever dream that was.

Developer

Grateful to hear you made it out in one piece!
