Ahhhh... What a stunning look into a beautifully horrific game on the rise! All departments really nailed making an impression, from the glowing backgrounds, to the dreamlike sprites, to the (when not terrifying) tender soundtrack, to the gripping writing, and to last, but certainly not least, the clever programming that makes the experience all the more interactive. Hello sailors, I am here and sat to see what comes next!!
... However every 67 reference adds a charge to the chamber... I see you.

Ooh golly goodie, I really enjoyed this! Such soothing and nostalgic vibes perfect for a look into our future protags of a bigger narrative, with the characters each taking turns to endear themselves to us. Aries is such a comforting yet tragic presence, Mari's a little firecracker, and Shellsea has great dry comedic timing. The art and gui are gorgeous, the layered effects in the beginning super clean, and the writing immaculate as always! So excited for the full experience!!
P.S. You have GOT to let me in on what you did to get such wonderful painterly backgrounds!
Bravo... Bra-FREAKING-Vo...
This game was truly a masterclass in mood and atmosphere, the writing, the art, the sound, and those phenomenal tooltips coming together hand in hand to make a truly elite story of justice and revenge.
Gosh, it's just so beautiful inside and out, the way you add that little hint at the end in the "not quite intended" ending that is further confirmed in the "likely optimal" ending, the themes that you know I just can't get enough of, the sense of dramatic timing... I just can't get over it, the music was so good I felt like I was playing one of the classic murder mystery VNs, and I'm not talking Danganronpa, we're going HIGHER than that.
Goodness gracious, may inspiration and a team like this find me one day because each and every one of you absolutely killed it!
AHHH thank you!!! While I definitely should have been working on some integral parts of the game *cough* the novel part *cough* I'm so glad you took the time to notice what I did work on, because GUI is my love-hate BAE! I can say I'm certifiably very proud of figuring out how to make a SAVE AND LOAD page, and will definitely be taking this wisdom into future projects.
A lesson I never learn but maybe this time's the charm: Don't leave all of your writing until the morning of submission :3
But seriously, what a great crop of games and diverse ideas that came up in spite of the theme [Shakes fist "I'll get to do another fairytale retelling yet!"]!! Velox is my favorite game jam by a mile so I'm always excited for the next one and I also can't wait to make improvements to my own game. I'll be seeing you once I finally get the chance to churn out a video on my experience doing Turbo 3 ;)) GGs to everyone!!!
Gosh I love just about every aspect of this game, from the stomach-churning realistic chats, to the isolating visuals, to the immersive sound design, to the clean programming of it all!! You guys truly pulled through and made such a great game in such a disciplined little amount of time. I love AI commentary done right so I made a fanart that I hope you like >///<
AHHH THANK YOU!!! I may always be icarus and deliver a dubious stew of an experience that I come to regret, but God can pry silly little visual customizations from my cold, dead hands!!
Thank you loyal customer, I'm hopeful that I can deliver a (depending on your choices un)satisfying ending soon >U<
Oh my gosh, I commend you and your committment HAHA!!
Thank you, I had a lot of fun designing the aesthetics and characters of the game (even Spencer, the little butthead that he is)! While it was definitely the nightmare of all time to code everything in, I'm glad people appreciate the customization freedom, makes it all worth it in the end lol.
And yes, that message is my personal PSA to the masses LMAO
Thank you for such a thoughtful and kind comment! I agree, I made the hitbox a little strict so I'll definitely be fixing that after the jam so that people can put on the shoes and hair more intuitively. It's always so disheartening to see how clothes are used as an argument against victims of any sort of altercation, so no wrong clothing choices here, we dress how we want!!
