Heehee make sure to download my patched version when you do ;)

Foks my dear, my love, my life, my biggest concern <333 Luckily he's not out to harm himself now that things have been settled, but he definitely has a mindset of no pain, no gain!! [gulps]

Thank you! Honestly once you make a VN with a minigame, it's really hard to go back LOL. Major kudos to the code of everyone I referenced and sourced from listed in the game credits.

And hoo man, MC is certainly in for a ride in the upcoming weeks, I hope the next update will deliver on some more crazy moments!

And thank you, I went in clueless to what I was going to do and came out with a title screen that is lowk one of my favorites heheh :3

I just put out an update that hopefully fixes that pesky burger save issue! As long as clean saves are used from now on, you should be able to save and load to your heart's content without worrying about game blocking glitches. [crosses fingers]

Besides that, thank you so much for the kind words, I really wanted to put my all into this game so seeing people take note of all the little tricks I did to hopefully add to the experience is so gratifying! I hope that with all this setup out of the way, the actual story can keep you coming back for more... We'll have to see with that Week 2 update heheheh...

Ah, I think I know what the issue is. I'll better explain it in a further update but you need to place the ingredients in the order going from the top to the bottom, so for the burger you were on, lettuce would be placed last before the top bun. I got this code from another source so I haven't touched it up for fear of breaking something, but I'll make sure to make a temporary note as a guide to the minigames on the game page until I can make proper popups that explain how to progress through each one!

It seems there were a few disconnects between my developer build and the public build I put out, all of which are hopefully fixed now that I've done a clean run through on a new build. From what I played, the messages should be fixed, and as for the burgers, the game should end once you fulfill all the orders after time has run out.

I plan to make more intuitive and better explained additions to the minigames in further updates, so I hope these sorts of things don't happen again. If you do try out the new build, please let me know if there are any issues that I should try and replicate and fix--really sorry that you guys have to temporarily play guinea pigs for me... :')

Ah! I see what you mean. I've gone through the demo and hopefully fixed all the issues you mentioned. An ill-placed couple of hashtags seems to be the culprit behind the phone problem. I've just updated the builds for what's hopefully the last time today. Let me know if there are any other issues and I'll do my best to fix them, thank you for your patience!

Edit 1: Actually I'm being paranoid and doing another itch download test run, I'll update this when I know for sure everything is behaving!
Edit 2: Everything works! Fingers crossed!!

Yes! There was an issue with some files not being archived, so if you download the latest version I uploaded, the issue should be fixed!

Ah! I think I found the root of the issue, something about an archive command that excluded txt files. I've fixed it, tested the build, and uploaded new builds so hopefully everything works now! Please let me know if that isn't the case!

Hello, and thank you!

That's really strange, I checked my files and it should be in there/it's correctly labelled + it runs fine on my version, but I'll see if I can get someone to recreate the issue or maybe change the file pathing. I'll update you when I find out what's going on!

Hoping to fix this soon so you can see the rest of it!

Ahhhh... What a stunning look into a beautifully horrific game on the rise! All departments really nailed making an impression, from the glowing backgrounds, to the dreamlike sprites, to the (when not terrifying) tender soundtrack, to the gripping writing, and to last, but certainly not least, the clever programming that makes the experience all the more interactive. Hello sailors, I am here and sat to see what comes next!!

... However every 67 reference adds a charge to the chamber... I see you.

Ooh golly goodie, I really enjoyed this! Such soothing and nostalgic vibes perfect for a look into our future protags of a bigger narrative, with the characters each taking turns to endear themselves to us. Aries is such a comforting yet tragic presence, Mari's a little firecracker, and Shellsea has great dry comedic timing. The art and gui are gorgeous, the layered effects in the beginning super clean, and the writing immaculate as always! So excited for the full experience!!

P.S. You have GOT to let me in on what you did to get such wonderful painterly backgrounds!

Bravo... Bra-FREAKING-Vo...

This game was truly a masterclass in mood and atmosphere, the writing, the art, the sound, and those phenomenal tooltips coming together hand in hand to make a truly elite story of justice and revenge.

Gosh, it's just so beautiful inside and out, the way you add that little hint at the end in the "not quite intended" ending that is further confirmed in the "likely optimal" ending, the themes that you know I just can't get enough of, the sense of dramatic timing... I just can't get over it, the music was so good I felt like I was playing one of the classic murder mystery VNs, and I'm not talking Danganronpa, we're going HIGHER than that.

Goodness gracious, may inspiration and a team like this find me one day because each and every one of you absolutely killed it!

YESSSS WE LOVE OUR STUPID LITTLE QUIRKS HERE!!! Thank you for your keen appreciation of the details, for that Elowen shall repay you with some trickle down coin schemes >v<

Thank you!! Heehee with any hope, the epic conclusion will be coming soon enough :3

AHHH thank you!!! While I definitely should have been working on some integral parts of the game *cough* the novel part *cough* I'm so glad you took the time to notice what I did work on, because GUI is my love-hate BAE! I can say I'm certifiably very proud of figuring out how to make a SAVE AND LOAD page, and will definitely be taking this wisdom into future projects.

Ren'py is truly the gift that keeps on giving, even as Godot and RPGMaker MZ grab me by the scalp and shape me without remorse. And thank you! I love taking a break between all the angsty things I make to simply indulge in lighthearted, apocalyptic fun!

A lesson I never learn but maybe this time's the charm: Don't leave all of your writing until the morning of submission :3

But seriously, what a great crop of games and diverse ideas that came up in spite of the theme [Shakes fist "I'll get to do another fairytale retelling yet!"]!! Velox is my favorite game jam by a mile so I'm always excited for the next one and I also can't wait to make improvements to my own game. I'll be seeing you once I finally get the chance to churn out a video on my experience doing Turbo 3 ;)) GGs to everyone!!!

I love me a good poetry read and this was no exception. Those collaged sprites were so cool and the moving background visual made my subway surfer brain happy >3<

So underrated and such nice polish to the visuals and wackiness. LOVE the employee of the day framing in the GUI, so clever!!

I am a 100% all ending champ because I enjoyed playing so much! Thank you for ushering in the heavy debate I had with my friend over answering those questions LMAOOO

Such a cleverly designed game and it accurately instilled in me the dread all gachas should trigger. Top marks!

...Okay now what if the shopkeep and Lamona fell in love.

Always bonus points for using such a goated engine. Your aesthetics are top notch and I too respected the business grind and sass Tegan had. Me and my hard earned money obtained through capitalism are now going to indulge in oblivion <3

Lovely art and such fun dynamics. I love how you used language in the miscommunication of our two troublesome lovebirds!

Heheheh I felt very smart playing after doing the recommended reading. Worth it!

Your visuals always stun and the melancholy of the situation really got me... I'd stare in Naenia's eyes anyday.

Hmph! [does not answer right away] W-wait- [Is taken to ChatGPT prison and is forced to mine bitcoin until I get out on good behavior and underhanded NFT trades]

I LOVE me some animated sprites. It always shows going the extra mile for visuals and I am obsessed with these little guys!

Gosh I love just about every aspect of this game, from the stomach-churning realistic chats, to the isolating visuals, to the immersive sound design, to the clean programming of it all!! You guys truly pulled through and made such a great game in such a disciplined little amount of time. I love AI commentary done right so I made a fanart that I hope you like >///<

Thank you!!! I really can't wait to push out a post-jam enhanced experience with an ending that doesn't just teasingly tickle butts, but I'll still always be proud of the progress made in that dreaded holiday week LOL Velox Series my beloved <333

High praise from the cozy feels writer expert in chief... I am but a humble Igor who yearns for a mad scientist writer to carry the burden of creation while I joyously tinker away and learn code, but in the meantime I will be so strong and write myself I suppose... >:3

AHHH THANK YOU!!! I may always be icarus and deliver a dubious stew of an experience that I come to regret, but God can pry silly little visual customizations from my cold, dead hands!!

Thank you loyal customer, I'm hopeful that I can deliver a (depending on your choices un)satisfying ending soon >U<

Thank you!!! That damn shield minigame... And as for the story's end, you and me both hahah >O<

I love me a good pun :3

Thank you!! I really wanted to make sure the choices in that dress up scene were meaningful one way or another >:)))

When he's a ten but he also wants to consume you... sigh.

Thank you! I'm glad the dialogue flowed and wasn't too unbearably cringy to weather! Keep holding on to hope, surely there's another Spencer out there our mc can work things out with...!

The way I spent an embarrassingly long time at my computer sitting there, slack mouthed because I was so focused on popping all my podlings' bubbles... So cute!

Runs so smooth like a nutter butter... The aesthetic is everything--Sugar Rush 64 when????!!

Love how reactive the game is when playing. Ctulus HATE to see cute and girly Pita coming!

I LOVE dressing up animals, so cute! Having the environment contain all we needed to collect looks was a fun way to encourage exploring.

The quiz to pick your model and background is such a creative idea! Really enjoyed being challenged to collect the clothes myself before dress up. No pain, no gain!

Love the nature vibes and music used! Unfortunately I seem to be in the odd group out whose ui tabs weren't working to pull up what was needed to progress the game, but from what I could see of it, it looked lovely and I always enjoy a good moment to stop and right click smell the roses.
