(+) Amazing module opener that will surely get any crew to stop and see what is going on

(+) Prime example of how public domain art can be used to create a unique and amazing aesthetic

(+) Great cast of characters and tie ins to APOF while keeping the module independent

A module revolving around a beauty serum extracted from an alien lichen, involving some classic Mothership exploitation. The presentation is exciting, involving some novel use of public domain art and colouring. The facility is good, with a really nice map, but the writing style is such that a lot of words are spent conveying information, that would have been quicker to access during games with some clever itemization and highlighting (though what highlighting there is is good). Especially the description of the mechanics behind the serum, is quite convoluted, and a lot of text is spent regaling the marketing stunt in great detail, which could have been done in a few bullet points.

The module purposefully leaves some questions open for the warden to answer, and while I am not opposed to that in principle, the ones here are exactly the kind of thing I would have wanted the module to provide: an incentive for the players to actually go to the lab, and the effects of using the beauty serum. Leaving these out are a pretty significant omission to me, which I think harms the module, even if done purposefully.

All in all, though, if you’re happy to fill out these blanks yourself and do some parsing, this could be a very fun break-in module.

Thanks for the write-up! The feedback is fair and I'll keep it in mind for the future.

The final horror is the worst / best of the jam I think! Very unsettling to have those watchers locked in, and also tortured.

Love the Judge Dredd-esque bizarre future business setup, and having rival NPCs also on the scene could make for some dramatic gameplay.

  • The various NPCs fit well in the module. Especially Trinc and the factions have some extra utility.
  • Layout is excellent + Nice touches to make it easier to prep  (advice, color coding, things to do and find in the rooms, map icons).
  • Module looks  easy to prep overall and seems well scoped. Prep advice is appreciated.
  • Nice collages.
  • The artist credits are pretty neat.

This is what I was expecting from the theme and it didn't disappoint! I don't know if it's my pdf readers (on linux) but the second page of the print friendly version is displaying real small. Great stuff though!

Oh bummer, I exported those PDFs like 8 times in a row as I noticed a typo or layout issue trying to submit. I'll have to fix that one after the jam. Thanks for pointing it out.

It's probably just some weird Linux issue on my end.

    • appreciate the extra pdf with explanation of the art you used, its beautiful and great to learn about art pieces we might never have heard of before.
    • the font the style the color it feels exactly like a luxurious beauty product add it is really well done.
    • map icons to represent the people are good and understandable.
    • the colors and modifications you added to the paintings/drawings are really good they all blend together and all colors feel like they belong there.
