Use of diversifiers?
Joined Trijam Discord,

You got me hyped when you mentioned Zelda :D

Great twist, can't wait to play against a smarter opponent

Thanks, I'm already working on the update (but sorry there won't be any Link in the next version.. but maybe in the future, who knows ?  ;)

Fun take on a great game :D  It took me a sec to figure it out, but with this kinda thing in mind you could almost make some kind of a turn based side scroller!  The AI leaves something to be desired, but the fact that you put it in is still awesome so thanks for sharing.

Developer(+1)

Thank you ! And a turn based side scroller seems like a complex but pretty interesting idea, thank you for suggesting it !
Yeah, AI is pretty bad atm (hence the level 0...), but will be updated after the jam !

Fun and interesting concept! I'd love to see this as an online multiplayer game! I recommend Mirror if you wanna try it!

Developer(+1)

Thank you, that's part of the plan indeed, and I had nothing in mind for the multiplayer, so thanks a lot, I will definitely give a it a try !

Interesting twist on chess. Figuring out how to avoid stalemate is some situations was quite the challenge.

Developer

Indeed, turns out to be the main difficulty if you play versus the random AI, that's why I want to add a more complex one and improve the multiplayer.

This is beautiful.  A very elegant mashup. 10/10

Developer

Thank you, I need to update the graphics though, I went for really small sprites to keep things simple at start.. kinda need to add some details for a future upgrade..

Developer

Thanks ! I will definitely update it in a few days...

Hi!
This is a very interesting game, I love the combination of Chess and Gravity, you have to completely change your tactics from the original game to win. I'd love to play this with my friends!
I agree with adriendittrick that sometimes AI pieces don't move, but that's okay. making a 'good' AI is pretty difficult.
Nonetheless, I had a lot of fun!

Developer

Thank you, I'm pretty excited too to see how it could be played with two players or with an interesting AI. It seem to me that it could become complex in an interesting way..

Awesome concept, but my browser tab with game freezed when opponent AI got last pawn locked with my pawn in front and officer from the top.

Developer(+1)

Ouch ! That's definitely a bug with the stalemate, it seems that I broke it by the end..

Thats a downside of such limited time for build release. There is no way to properly test 100% of game mechanics. You only hope that you got lucky/skilled enough to write without bugs =)

That was a neat concept!

Having to wrap my head around the gravity system was fun.

There is maybe one major flaw which kind of breaks my thoughtful planning: sometimes the enemy AI doesn't move at all. (or maybe it does something like moving a piece one space up and it immediately falls down? I'm not sure it's quite fast) it makes it hard to lure the AI into checks :p

Otherwise, I had fun with this one!

Developer

Thank you ! If the enemy does not seem to be moving, it usually exchanged 2 pieces and it happens a bit too fast to be seen indeed, or there can even be no differences if the exchange happened between two pawns...
