Thanks everyone for the great comments! So much of that was left on the cutting room floor with the 3-hour limit heh; I really enjoy the time constraint to really force the creation of core gameplay fast.
I usually make it a point to play and rate *everything* in a TriJam but I got my covid vaccine a few hours after submitting this one, and side effects knocked me on my ass.
I love this concept! Aside from how it suits the theme the idea of a plump dragon squashing greedy intruders from its treasure is really cool and funny. The art also sells the idea really well with the dragon's expressions and animations and so does the music and sound! The blend of 2D and 3D is really well done and I love the glow on the coins and the death particles.
I feel like the delay between the fall and the "draggable state", though necessary, is a tad too long though and having it shortened would improve the experience exponentially as it would contribute to the flow of the game and help with the fact that you can't see enemies spawn from the side if the dragon sits there(which is usually the case as you can't hold it in the air for long).
The direction of the coin fall when you hit the enemies that pick them up, I feel should point towards the treasure as they're as good as gone when they're picked up by the robbers because they fly out of the screen even when you manage to squash them.
Otherwise this is really cool!
What a great game! Nice aesthetics and flawless animations!
The only thing we don’t like is the that the dragon doesn’t smash the bad guys.
Nice experience overall.
Drawings are cool. I liked that you put this sketch :
The game is well done overall, everything works well. I didn’t really get into the game though. I think it lacks a little touch to make it fun.
Thats funny! Great look, man I wish I could draw like that.
Sound is alright, and the physics seem good.
I am unsure what the point of dropping the dragon is, as it splashes my coins all over the place. I can just as easily throw the soldiers in the air.. Also the game is way easier the less coins you have :D
Great job anyways! Really an enjoyable game :)
Amazing art, feel and polish. Always looking forward to your releases here.
Huh nice! It's difficult to save the coins actually but that's not a bad thing. I admire the dragon mechanics, physics and art...
Simple, but works nicely.
Maybe I would added a few more juiciness to the landing to emphasize the weight of your fatty dragon. But...
Good job, and contgrats to the team!
Very good entry - everything feels pretty polished. The dragon is supercute and dropping it is fun. Obviously fits the theme nicely.
I wish I could get my coins back from those dirty thieves but alas once they get them, it's gone :(
Couldn't survive longer then 1:22 mins in 3 trys.
