Finally, I can become hackerei-man. Now if only I knew the slightest thing about playing these sorts of games.

For what's currently out, I do really enjoy the aesthetic of the UI and interface. Definitely seems like a cool, and unique, sort of fangame for touhou. I especially like the premise of "hacking into the barrier", almost as if Gensokyo is the matrix or something.

Ah.. the hacking genre has been so neglected as of late. (Too bad I'm crap at it)

Not the most intuitive progression for me with the ignorance of my youth, but I appreciated the built-in BBS background and this is a really interesting concept; it was fun to poke around with what was there.

The music and visuals are great. It feels nice and snappy to play, and it has tab completion and everything else I'd expect. I could see this becoming a cool game.

It's a bit unintuitive that you can't run normal commands like ls after running

connect 2.2.2.2

but you can run nmap, SSHnuke, PortHack, etc. I also didn't realize that SSHnuke wanted a port number as an input. I only managed to finish thanks to EasternMouse's spoilers.

Not sure there is a way past first objective.

I've tried everything possible, even commands not listed, which do nothing, so I guess there is nothing there yet? (v 0.07)

Game would really use not just help, but help per command, like command line actually does

Ironically, just as I wrote that - I found a way in.

Spoilers bellow

  • connect 2.2.2.2
  • nmap to see ports
  • SSHnuke 22 (SSH is at port 22)
  • PortHack (now you have port opened - you can get in)

Wow, excellent job! Getting in without a tutorial is genuinely next level.

We've been adding stories, tutorials and more features to the game throughout the week. Please stay tuned!

I'm really intrigued.

Just, if only I knew what I can do. Even with a little fiddling around, I didn't even get past the first objective.

But I'll be waiting for the completion of the game. I see that the Post-Jam version has extra things so it must be incomplete and non-beatable right now.

Again, full points for concept.

It's too hard for me, the folders didn't give me a clue for anything.

hahaha i dont get it

It's a pretty neat concept, but it kind of misses the winter theme entirely?

However, I'd love to see it expanded in some way or another.

Very interesting concept, about you being a hacker hacking into someone's computer.

It's currently just a demo I guess, and it is definitely not winter-related, but it is still a nice game to see.

Nice Hacknet clone! It is still barebones, but the idea surely is interesting, if story and maybe some new gameplay features done right. If you're going to continue developing, looking forward to it!

Though it does kinda miss the theme of the jam
