This is a masterclass.  I love the story and its so perfect for the theme. How the game just comes alive both audio/visual wise as ruukoto discovers the world is wonderful.

This is really cool, cute and clever~

I just conceptually love tying a journey of self discovery to the progression of visuals and the music. It's a really great idea.

I think the main critique I have is with the scenario. That being that there isn't really any conflict (internal or external). Or perhaps a better way to put is that there isn't any "resistance." I think for a journey of self discovery, for it to really hit home by the end, there should be some sort of struggle that was overcome. But the way it plays out is that Ruukoto interacts with something or talks to a character, takes in information in a neutral or positive way, and grows/learns. And there aren't any significant, narrative roadblocks to this procedure. Which, for me, left the ending feeling a bit hollower than it should've been. I think the music and dialogue in the ending itself were great and really sold the moment in a vacuum, but there was just kind of a feeling in the back of my mind that I didn't really "earn it."
To put this in less abstract terms, and tie it more to the theme of the story as I perceived it: It's one thing to answer the question "How does one learn to appreciate the world and their existence in it?" But I think a more interesting version of that question would be "How does one learn to appreciate the world and their existence in it, in spite of the hardships one might experience or the wrongs one might witness?" And I think adding and answering that additional context to that question is what would've really pushed the narrative over the edge for me.
Kind of a ramble-ramble, but hopefully that makes sense lol

Lastly I wanted to give particular mention to the music. I adore "Exploration Layer 3" and "The Joy of Life" in particular, props to the composer~

Touhou: Ruukoto the Robot tells the story of a robot learning to perceive emotion and meaning within the world. The game is enhanced by the graphical representation progressively shifting from a data efficient representation to a view with more detail and color, evocative of human poetry. The game has light interactive elements with no failure condition. These elements allow the player to more comprehensively experience Ruukoto's journey and revelations. This concludes the summarization portion of the review.

I played Touhou: Ruukoto the Robot to completion. I experienced several uncategorized stimuli, and am making preliminary comparisons to the human emotional experiences in my database. I have noted a "desire" to repeat the stimuli experience from the music in Touhou: Ruukoto the Robot. I have identified a relevant bias within my rating procedures. As an objective being, I must report this error to my creator.

A wonderful journey. I really enjoyed it. The art, music and writing all work very well together.

Great choice of music. PoDD has a large proportion of themes I really like, and its title theme in particular is one of my favorites!

Lovely game! The transition from ASCII graphics to 8-bit and then to modern sprites is a nice touch.

This game was honestly amazing. Even if the gameplay was more on the basic side, the story was beautiful, and it was an amazing use for the best background Touhou (eat your heart out, Daiyousei)

I had to resist rating 5 stars for the concept alone when I first booted it up, but upon playing it, it's definitely earned said 5 star rating ^^

Amazing game! I loved the story/gameplay premise with the updating environments, and the ending was wholesome and made me really happy.

you didn't need to put me in the special thanks, really. but still, i liked how this all wrapped together narratively, and all the elements coming in together really helps the ending hit harder. its short but very sweet.

Very in-depth narrative and dynamic story telling. Aside from a few typos, this was an enjoyable experience.
