I love Yui so much! I like that you went out of the way to attempt to create an original character for this; it shows an ambition that I like seeing in Jams like this.

As for the game itself, not having to worry about dying was nice! A lot of the TH1-inspired entries in this jam are particularly merciless with the yin-yang orb, so it was nice just to chill and focus on hitting things. I played on controller and unfortunately, it felt fairly unintuitive-- but I slid tackled my way to victory, so it all worked out in the end.

There's also not a lot of polish in general, which is understandable given a three-day cycle. What matters is that the essentials (the character sprite, the orb and the cards) all feel very authentic to their inspiration. I also love the storytelling device you have here. It's very cute and I think is good to have for this style of game. Nice job!

Woo, OC with naginata, nice. Not being able to die to the yin-yang orb is a good thing; after playing several of the Touhou 1-likes this jam I have concluded that having the yin-yang orb kill you is not my favorite design decision… heh.

I think the controls could be more responsive, it felt like sometimes my key presses didn’t trigger.

Nice detail with the credits and as always it's nice to see jam games available in multiple languages.

Stress free Touhou 1 where you can't die is nice. Pretty fun playthrough, even if attacking on the ball didnt always register.

Though I wish the boss had something to it other than just being stationary. Since you can't die, you could have it do stuff to protect itself like make a shield that changes its location everytime it gets hit. Also, a dash/slide kick function would've been nice.

For some reason, the portraits during dialogue were stretched weirdly, might want to get that fixed.

Also, some tips for unity, there is a function called application.targetframerate that locks the fps to the target frames, so you can lock it to 60. Also, try making the music player a singleton that persists through levels so that the music stays seamlessly through the levels. (use the dontdestroyonload function)

hello thank you for your feedback and fun fact you can slide if you attack and move at the same time , sorry  I will add that info to the itch page i forgot to mention it there.  I will look into implementing the things you have suggested when it comes to the next update for the game.

i did notice there was a sliding animation but i felt it was both inconsistent to pull off and didn't increase your speed which is what i wanted out of a slide attack.

ah sorry about that.  i will add improving the slide attack as a thing for version 2 thank you for the feedback
