This game was about as retro as it gets. I talked at length about it on stream, but Space Invaders and Galaga were some of my formative gaming memories and this game does the legacy of those games justice. Melding it with Touhou is just a perfect fit. The choice to do monochromatic art was also bold; it was very delightful. The sound is quality too; I especially liked Marisa's Master Spark. The game is short, witty and memorable, which is exactly what you're looking for in a jam like this.

The graphics are cute, the patterns are good, and the dialog was quite good. There was a lot to enjoy in a small amount of time.
This was cute (and almost as retro as you can get in terms of games as a medium lol). Very funny idea to adapt Touhou to the beginnings of the genre.
The sound effects were a bit jarring for me sometimes. It seems that the same sound can play twice at the same time. Which will just effectively increase the volume if they're coming from the same "source."
While the jam version is only one stage, was still cool that there are three scenarios/characters.
I think in particular the sound effect when the player shoots was a bit off to me since it's pretty bass-y. (Is to say, it's at a low frequency, I believe would be the technical way to put it.) On headphones I found it pretty noticeable and hard to drown out. I think it could be a bit subtler because it's basically constant (since you're mostly always shooting).
Quality over quantity, I liked that.
It is short but the patterns are pretty good and music and aesthetics... it is a solid game.
Also, Nue maybe just needs more attention... as well as Ichirin...
Fun lil shmup! Kinda easy, but I'm a shmup fiend. Wasn't a fan of the UFO noise, bit grating, but I loved the 1 bit art.
I tried to make the ufo noise a bit quieter in the updated version but my laziness made it so every ufo that comes into the scene makes the ufo noise, and i'm not sure if multiple ufos making the noise at the same exact time makes it louder or just the same amount lol.
Also, try looking around the main menu of the updated version if you want a harder experience ;)
That was good; the style meshed well and the stage felt unique compared to others in the series. I'd like to see more difficulty options in the future.
