The potential is absolutely here. Art's great, the gameplay's foundation is solid, the gameplay loop is established. It does however need some polish. Front loading info on how to play in the start of a battle made it a slight struggle in the beginning, and RNG can destroy you if you're just real unlucky like I was. Still, this is easily a great prototype and I'm all for it

Super nice art, the cards, rooms. Good gameplay. Very good overall submission. Top of the jam. Congrats!
This one was actually one of my favorite games from the jam. There is quite a lot of polish, and I can see that the team behind this one is really talented. The gameplay with the cards actually left a little bit to be desired, but it was unique and fit with the theme. All the illustrations were beautiful and the cute little animations when you travel from space to space got me going good. Overall, a good game that takes awhile to find its pace.
Really unique concept! I was very glad other comments warned of the issue with running out of space to move cards so I have been using as few cards as possible to avoid that (so far!) but can totally see still having an issue if I get down to only one lane available since I’m about half way through playing (based on looking at what I’ve completed in my journal). I love, love, love the sound effects. So satisfying and, for certain ones in particular, funny! Great incorporation of the blood theme. I’m not a strategic/card game player normally so I am “button mashing” at times instead of really planning card uses but it is still quite enjoyable.
We were playing together as a group and there was so much content to go through, definitely well done content wise! Not everyone was into card games, luckily one of us was at least :)
The card game mechanic was definitely unique, though as other people mention, a skip play button may add another element of strategy + prevent soft locking maybe.
The art, the sfx and the music was top notch, definitely keep it up! Hopefully you keep working on it, I'd love to see a full version.
I spent a LOT of time playing this!
Great music, funny victory tune.
Bit weird to always have to move a card, not much game breaking. A skip button would be helpful, once I got soft locked with all stacks full and couldn't place a new card.
I'm just mad I got to the end with a horrible deck and now can't see the ending. Maybe a way to go back up would be cool!
Good job!
Cool concept that's fun to get the hang of. A skip turn button would definitely be a welcomed addition. Atmosphere of the game was well made with the art, music and sfx. Nice work!
I really loved playing this game, the art, music, and gameplay were an absolute delight! However, just like GuyWithTeaCup, I ended up soft locked out of late game due to being unable to end my turn without doing a move. The cards can be a bit hard to understand at first, but ultimately this was just a really fun game that actually went on a delightfully lot longer than I thought it would. I really enjoyed the skill factors into the gameplay, as well as the RNG for events outside walking around. Trading around cards was also fun, but I realized getting the higher-tier death cards was actually a huge mistake since a tier 1 death card could already block a full cat move. The blood resource mechanic was also fun, as I could farm out extra health in a battle if needed.
I genuinely had a blast though, I would love to see either a bug-fix for the soft lock or an even more fleshed-out version as it's genuinely well-made and fun, especially with the cute vampy creatures.
While the game in general is pretty raw with assets dissonating with each other and some quality-of-life features absent, the main gameplay loop is solid and general visual design is quite captivating. Since I'm a big appreciator of card games, I liked it more than common person ever could, but for those who are not fan of the genre this project can feel a bit mediocre.
Late stages of the game become chaotic with foes shifting tides all over the place and "cursed" cards rapidly flooding your deck. Eventually I just stuck with a single line stacked to a limit on my turn and basically softlocked since you can't end your turn without moving any card at least once, but I had no space for it. Dedicated "skip turn" button would help me out probably, but just as I said - may life-of-quality features are absent. Had to restart it. Touche. Still got my serotonin rush though.
