Hi, thanks more for rating One Way Out, your game is very cool too! We're going to release One Way Out in steam and we'd really appreciate it if you could help us refine the game. Please write in the comments under the game what you can add or fix... You will help us a lot with this)
Thanks for checking out our game, I will edit my review on yours adding in honest feedback when I get the time and chance!
looks cool fellow UE5 dev, adding a push back increase over time or as you pick up something will make they game really fun just splattering enemies on the wall at the end lol
Yep could definitely improve that one and add more to it, and will do, thanks for the feedback!
surviving to 5 minutes must be really hard! i only managed to survive 1 by running in circles around the central pillar thing Xd i like some of the small details the game has, like adding dogs instead of just robots, and the ironic fact that the robots try to heal you by hugging you, but that actually makes it worse and more painful xd.
i don’t know if my problem is that common, but the truth is that it would have been much better to have a quality setting, where the highest would make the game use DirectX12, and the lowest DirectX11 (although yay i can now play other unreal games on the jam ^^)
First of all thanks for playing and trying the game out!
Yeah, we got this feedback multiple times and we realized it ourselves after releasing the game, we will definitely work on making the game shorter and easier, even add more variety and better feedback, since that was just the prototype.
Sorry you had to deal with this, will make it more accessible so everyone can play without issues!
Game is fun and simple Good work
Thanks, glad it was fun!
Actually got around to play this one. Simple yet fun. It's more difficult than I thought but that's good!
Thanks for checking it out! Yeah, we know it's a bit too difficult and long, we wanted to tweak it, but by the time we realized, it was a bit too late. Still, glad you found it fun, and thanks for trying it out!
Fun concept and nice execution! I would have enjoyed having more feedback as to how close you start to get damaged in order to time my pushes better, but it’s still a fun mechanic that gets super chaotic as more robots start to spawn. Well done!
Thanks for the feedback! Yeah, you're right. We'll definitely keep that in mind for future. Thanks for trying it out!
Feedback on hugging/being hugged could use some work. The game otherwise felt good to play and looked solid.
Noted. Thanks for playing and for the feedback!
Graphics is good :)
Thanks a lot! Glad you liked the graphics!
Cool game! Even 3D...great work!!! Good art style! :)
Thanks for your kind words and for playing!
Cool idea! It ramps up pretty quickly I think the pushing needs some kind of more obvious audio/visual feedback but the enemies falling is satisfying and I really like how the game looks!
Thanks! Yeah it does, will get more refined in future projects.
Really fun Idea. Unfortunately my pc isn't all that good anymore so I had some major performance issues. But from what I was able to play, I would probably add some force to the push back mechanic. Now the enemies kind of just flop over, which is kind of funny. But having them slam against the walls and floor would be funnier :D
We thought it looked funny so we left it there haha, but I agree in a more polished game pushing should have more impact and feedback, thank you!
The hedgehog's dilemma is a metaphor about the challenges of human intimacy. It describes a situation in which a group of hedgehogs seek to move close to one another to share heat during cold weather. They must remain apart, however, as they cannot avoid hurting one another with their sharp spines. Though they all share the intention of a close reciprocal relationship, this cannot occur, for unavoidable reasons.
That's how this game made me feel, it's very difficult to keep the correct distance to the robots. Too far away, and I can't push them. Too close, and I get hurt.
Jokes aside, this was alright.
Okay this comment was a rollercoaster, but I think you conveyed the idea pretty well haha. Yes, I know what you mean, certainly something to work on and improve in the future, thanks!
Despite not being able to finish the game, I had fun playing it. The attack distance was hard to judge (both for player and "enemies"), but I appreciated the interesting take on the jam's theme
Very little people were able to finish it, so I'm guessing that's the game being too long or too difficult (or both). Thanks for trying it out and glad you had fun!
I really Liked the idea. At first I thought the game would be easy, but then I had to figure out how to trick theese robots. Was able to get to the ending, its funny. Btw why do dogs wanna hug me? Oh, and the healthbar at the bottom is gorgeous :)
Thank you so much! Really glad you enjoyed it and made it to the end, those robots can be trickier than they look 😄 As for the dogs… maybe they just really like you? Or maybe it's a trap, who knows. And yes, the health bar is gorgeous, huge thanks to a good friend of mine who helped out with that (they preferred to stay anonymous), so all credit goes to them!
Noooo I want my hugs why do these huuurt! Jokes aside I like the original theme of the game the dynamic gameplay <3.
Aww, sorry for the painful hugs 😅 We'll work on making them more gentle next time! Really glad you liked the theme and gameplay, that means a lot to us. Thanks for playing! ❤️
I had a lot of fun with this game! The robotic voices and characters made this feel like a Portal horror game, but with a general feeling of wanting to be hugged! Great job overall!
Happy you did feel that way, thank you!
Congratulations on the project! Super interesting and with potential for expansion, as long as it's better balanced: attack cooldown, mob and player speed, new room layouts (perhaps with mechanical traps) at higher levels, and strategic respawn points.
Really good ideas, I will note them down in case we ever continue the project, thanks!
Really fun game, but also pretty hard. I managed to reach 02:00 minutes, but the dogs are really fast and have a tricky collision, when they pile up they keep pushing each other, and with the attack cooldown, I found it hard to kill them. But I still had a lot of fun playing it!
I hope that wasn't too frustrating for you, will try to look into balancing it more and maybe reducing the time necessary if we ever continue with the game, thanks for trying it out and for your feedback!
Great game! It's pretty impressive considering the amount of time although a web version would've been much appreciated.
We're really glad you enjoyed it! This is actually something we've thought about, but unfortunately, Unreal Engine 5.6 does not officially support WebGL or browser-based deployment. Hopefully, there will be better options available in the future. Thank you for your interest and feedback!
Really fun game. Good job!
Thank you so much! We’re really happy to hear you had fun. That means a lot to us!
