10/10 felt like a real WAF dog!! Run around in circles and WAF my heart out. got a score of 132 =)
WAF! Having to kill the enemies by making them crash into each other is a neat core mechanic!
This game reminds me of those arcade mini-games I played a lot for the high score a kid, such as Pyoro/Bird & Beans. I would love to see it get harder over time, such as the game speeding up or dealing with stage hazards!
Any game where you play as a dog is off to a good start. This was a simple and fun Vampire Survivors-like ;). The collisions between the dog and the bats felt a little unforgiving, leaving me wondering how I got hit. When I tried to restart the game it seemed to freeze and the music stopped playing so I had to refresh to try again. Would be cool to see an upgraded version of this in a future jam!
Hmm, you’re right about the freeze when restarting but it only seems to happen in the browser. That will be a fun bug to track down 🙃
Like the bark as an almost physical object!
More games with dog protagonists imo.
WAF!
Great jam game! Intuitive to pick up, and runs very smoothly on the browser.
If you’re going to do a post jam update, I’d love to see the bats speeding up with time and a random heart drop every 25-50 bats killed.
Those are very intuitive enhancements, and I have thought about similar things –specifically the heart drops. I definitely want to chat with the team about whether we can poke at it a bit more.
Thanks for playing and for the feedback!
Live Dot Reaction: Alright another wave fighter, cool I'm a dog, awesome I can WAF, alright hit a bat... hmmm they didn't die but they bounced off t- THEY EXPLODE HELL YES
Music sounded like it was coming out of a Sega Genesis, but it was written by Toby Fox. The riff at the end was sick.
0 bugs encountered, gameplay was smooth, and I don't think I'll ever get tired of the explosions.
Y'all also seemed to work really well as a team, which I admire and aspire to.
Thank you so much for the kind words, we’re glad you enjoyed it!
