Amazing art and music, controls are on "getting over it" level, but I enjoyed it

What a game! I loved the visuals, the music, the gliding... I loved it all. Finally finsihed it. I only would make the stalagnate a bit further apart, because gliding through proved almost impossible. However, it was an amazing game. Cute, artsy, the vibe was there... maybe if the owl could move a tiiiiiiiiny bit faster, that would be cool. But one of my favourite games this GameJam! I am glad someone else also made a game that relies on text as well (at least it added so much to your story)!:Ddd
Hello, that is the end of the map. When you're delivering a letter from Lex to Sesse, you have to go back the way you came from and touch the left edge of the city level, but watch out! There is a bug where when you touch it when delivering a letter from Sesse to Lex, the game breaks, so don't do that :). In the letters you can find where you can expect Lex to be next time you deliver her a letter. Thank you for asking!
I loved this game for the mechanics of flying, acceleration and gliding, but even more for the amazing visuals, great music, different environments and a really interesting and funny story in the letters. The illustrations in the credits were greatly appreciated, because i wouldn't stand not knowing how those 2 lovebirds (pun intended) end up :Dddd
Good work on such a great game!
Interesting take on the theme. Loved the mechanics of flying. It works really well. Also nice visuals and sounds.
I didn't want to read the letters too much, but I'm sure the story was spectacular.
Well done!
Loved the game, loved the cute owl gameplay and visuals. To be honest I got kinda confused by what the story was about by the end. Great game
Got stuck after the 2nd letter by the stalactites in the cave. Wanted to read more of the story but alas even after trying for a number of minutes I did not squeeze thorough. A damn shame. Very nice looking game
The way to do it is to build up a bit of speed and then let go of the controls; the owl stops flapping her wings and her hitbox gets smaller. This mechanic is explained in the city level. Also, you need to deliver the 2nd letter back to the queen, who is on the left. :P
We're glad you're enjoying our game though! :)
Thank you so much for the feedback! I have been thinking about this mechanic and I do want to change it a little bit after the voting is over, just for the sake of completion. I think the flying animation transitions could still use a lot of work (I do think they work well, but they could be even better) and the owl doesn't need to be powering through by flapping her wings all the time, maybe she could only flap once in a while. But that might confuse the player even more... I'm going to have to think about this a lot, anyway, thanks again!
I just wanna say that I liked the mechanic. Fast movement is very satisfying. But I think one of the issues is that the level is small for the movement. When the movement changes to swooping and the model changes the player has very little time to direct the movement - you have some intuition how the owl flies by default and mid movement it changes -which is cool, BUT your brain has like a tenth of a second to familiarise themselves with how the movement works.
But hey. Great mechanic nonetheless, its just a skill issue :P
Thanks, I'm really glad you liked the game! As @Pivony stated, the key is to build up speed and then let go off the controls -- the owl's collision box changes based on what kind of flight it's performing. I admit that this puzzle is maybe a little bit poorly explained in the game -- it is explained in the City level where it isn't required, and then the player has to remember that into the Cave level, where it actually is required. Nonetheless, I really hope you're able to enjoy the rest of the game now that you know how to pass through! :D
