Finally played this and wow, I loved how you tackled the theme - you could genuinely feel the mental downward spiral with each new case. Great story, great art. (I love the loading screen guy!)
Awesome paper physics btw. And the hammer :))

I’m really glad you enjoyed our take on the theme! And kudos to you for noticing the downward spiral the character should be heading in. It was intended, but i was not sure anyone would notice in the end! :D
PS: our artist is extatic you appreciated the newspaper-reading guy. He was a last minute addition when she couldnt do anything but sit and support the programmers in the team:Ddd
We’re really glad you like the game! And thank you for all the kind words!
Very good game. From the art to the music to the story to the overall presentation. You did a very good job and even more so that it was done in two days. Keep on making great games.
Reminds me of Papers please, I loved that game and for same reason I also like this one.
For a 47 hours, it feels complete.
Really cool visual side. I kept trying to make the "right" decidions and wondered why there are constant comments about the fridge but then it clicked and i found out i cant "win" this game by making the evidence based decidions. I liked that aspect of the game. Also, i liked how it is thought trough to a detail.
thank you so much for giving our game a try! I’m glad you weren’t put off by the fact you can’t exactly “win” tha game and that the clues about your financial situation were clear enough to recognize! Unfortunately, the theme of the gamejam combined with the idea for the game played into a more depressing storyline. In eirher case, if you weren’t completely happy woth how the story turned out for you, or just liked the idea of the game, i’d wncourage you to give it another go and try out aome different lifestyle paths. Who knows, maybe things will be different in the end ;)
My favourite take on the theme so far, a very profound commentary on today's society and surprisingly deep, didn't expect anything this serious and thought-provoking from a game jam, something initially silly seeming as a first time attendee. Made me tearyeyed towards end ngl (how are you supposed to rate this on the fun scale? this was fucking devastating [5 stars ofc]). Not to mention the amazing music and great visuals, really great job guys, love this so much, don't even want to begin to imagine the ammount of work this must have taken :)
+I LOVE THE HAMMER :D
Thank you so much for all the kind words! We are so happy you enjoyed our game and our take on the topic! I am really glad that you weren’t dissuaded from finishing the game by all the reding required, and even happier that our game and our take on the theme resonated with you! I just hope we didnt traumatize you too much ;)
As a part of the team that made a game about reading letters, trust me, reading didn't discourage me at all, the opposite actually. Most of the games are more gameplay focused (not that that's a bad thing and not like you had bad gameplay, that was stellar too!), so stuff like this is always refreshing to see, great job again guys :) !
Awww you make me teary-eyed! Thank you so much! We're glad that someone enjoyed the game like this! We tried to make a "deep game" for once, so it makes me happy that it had the impact intended.
(and of course your review kept me giggling, thanks for commenting on the art and music, i'm just learning how to use garage band:Ddd)
Keeping the fridge full is my hobby. If I’m gonna have an ASMR hammer clicker, might as well get paid. 10/10
Great art and great concept unfortunetly I didn't feel the need to take the bribes enough which made the theme of the game fell a bit flat
Maybe you are just too used to poor furniture and cobwebs all over your room, so you didn't feel the need XD jk
Jokes aside, the path where you take no bribes is also an intended path. And now you can try to end better with different decisions ;)
Anyway we are glad u liked the game! We appreciate u had the time and patience to get through it.
Loved the art, the hammer sound, the overall game itself. Would add the summary for the defendant as well, because sometimes, there was too much text for me.
Thank you! We're glad you enjoyed our game.
There is a lot of text and it's ok if you didn't want to read it all. The summaries should be there for both sides. If you saw only offense, the other paper could be hidden underneath (try moving the paper with your mouse? ;)) But it's also possible that something went wrong, in that case we are sorry for that.
Sadly, I did not enjoy the game. I believe that I just don't fit in the target audience of this game so I refrained from rating the game.
Overall, nice visuals, controls seems fine, but too much text to my liking.
loved it :) the clicking is super satisfying , it's great that you get to see the summary of the case when supposed to make a decision, the soundtrack's fitting, it crashed two times for some unknown reason, but still managed to finish it. Make it a full game pls, wanna play more :)
Hi, thanks so much for the feedback! We're really glad that you enjoyed our game and that you'd like more of it! We didn't think people would want to read that much. What i can definitely recommend for some more content is playing the game again and making different decisions. In our game, not every judge ends up the same ;)
Is it possible to go to bed without turning the light off? Was too terrified to test it. XD
But seriously an awesome game. Helped myself to 2 endings. Great job telling an interesting story!
(I think on my second playthough I got the case with the dead cat, but did not get the case with the overfed cat, so that might be a bug, but meowbe it was intentional)
