you made me play math?! and I still loved it! good game design!

Developer

Thank you, that's great to hear! We also think that math is fun when you can use it to destroy the Roman Empire :D

Submitted(+3)

I loved it.  Such an original idea with great story and visuals. Only thing I'm a bit sad about is how short it was...wondering if it would be expandable somehow later on. But for a short game really cool!

Developer

Thank you for the feedback! We're glad you like the game! Seems like we will have to make a sequel :D

Very fun game, amazing visuals, nice concept! Is the end and trailer art made by AI?

PS: Had to sacrifice 18, yes I am an asshole :D

Developer(+1)

Thanks for the comment. No AI was used for the visuals of the game—the images you’re referring to are real paintings :)

[1] The Course of Empire, Thomas Cole, 1836

[2] Le Pandemonium, John Marting, 1841

[3] The Fire of Rome, Hubert Robert, 1785

This game was so much fun to play that i'm only sad it wasn't longer :D

It's just the right amount of a math-to-funny blend and the visuals together with the music are just breathtaking!

Developer(+1)

We are pleased to hear that you liked our game and that we’ve balanced the math-to-funny ratio well (even though math can sometimes be fun too!). Coming up with quest ideas where 0/zero is actually useful was quite a challenge—maybe that’s why the Romans didn’t care much about zero :). Who knows, maybe there’s potential for a sequel ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

well i personally would be very excited for a sequel! As i see it then, we should be hoping the next jam is all about infinity ;)

Surprisingly, as a non-Matfyz person (and overall someone who usually despises maths), I really enjoyed this game. It was a good twist on the theme. But FOR THE LOVE OF GOD WHY DID I THINK THE FIRST PASSWORD WOULD HAVE TO BE IN ROMAN NUMERALS AND TRIED TO FIGURE OUT A COMBINATION THAT WOULD ALLOW ME TO USE IT.

Good game.:)

Thank you! We're glad you enjoyed the game!

A really neat game, with great visuals. Obviously I sacrificed 9 people both times. Blood for the Blood God!

Ahh yes, the ZERO, a good servant but a evil master

Wow! This is such an amazing game! There's always a few absolute gems from each jam and this game's definitely one of them. I loved how funny it was, how polished it was, the controls, the storytelling, the little easter eggs, and overall everything. (During the ending I was wondering whether it was going to go into mathematical analysis territory to define x/0 and reach that 0/0 is undefined, lol)

Developer

Thanks for your feedback! We're happy to hear that you enjoyed our game! 😊

This is very good! A loved how much of a game you squeezed into one GameJam. The visuals are awesome, the gameplay is fun, the story is interesting and it all seems very polished!

Loved it!

I love this so much, very cool way to deal to theme!

I loved this. Almost closed the game when it was just math questions, but I'm glad I sticked around to the end and back. I have a special ineterest in games that teach something in fun ways and this game seems to be aiming at that really nicely

I had the exact same feeling, thought to my self what would happen if answer the question mark. Little did I know it was the goal, leading me to spiral of finding zero, couldn't close the game afterwards.

Developer

We're glad you liked the game! The newly released trailer should help clear up any initial confusion about what the game is about ;)
