The game looks incredible! And the music is perfect for this, felt super stressful as the water was rising!

Love the art and the lighting. Something about smooth lighting with pixel art always puts a nice warm spot in my heart. Great job!

Very nice pixel art style! I'd keep the text boxes and UI elements in the same style so it all fits together.

The jump boost felt a bit hit-and-miss to me, sometimes it didn't work. Maybe you could make the controls a bit more forgiving.

Great atmosphere and unique ramp mechanic. Pretty odd that Mia is about to drown and decides to steal flowers from the neighbors. I noticed that the doors can be opened with brute force by smashing all the directional buttons at the same time. Overall really good entry for the jam.

Good job the artwork and the style are really nice!

Thank you for the Feedback!

I love the artwork and effects! I must say that the jump is a little bit weak, it's not bad you just have to get in the perfect position to make some jumps, good work tho!

Thank you for the Feedback! Yes, I thought at the end of the jam, that I should improve the jump mechanic a bit more ^^

Game looks beautiful. I would advise making your first obstacles easier, because you usually want to give players time to learn character movement before hitting them with the pixel perfect jumps. Also I feel weird about the breathing sound, it kind of clashes with pixel art aesthetic for me.

Developer(+1)

Thanks for the Feedback! Yes, normally I would do it in that way, but I messed up little bit the jump mechanic, so I thought that the first obstacle should be learned as fast as possible ^^

Nice entry! I feel the player is a little too much slippery, and I found out that the first door can not be opened with the "tutorial text" visible. I had to go out and in in the hotzone again to trigger it

Developer

Thanks for the feedback! The first room is supposed to be a save zone, so you can read the intro and tutorial on the side. I had completely forgotten that the door would no longer trigger if you tried to interact with the door before the end of the intro. I didn't want the player to leave before the intro was over. So that's where this bug came from.

Interesting idea, but needs a little more effort to improve player-character interaction, good job!

Developer

Thanks for the Feedback! What exactly should I improve? Could you tell me a little more in detail?

I would remove the sliding and make the movement of the character more predictable. I can often get stuck in the ceiling or wall. Door triggers don't always work, so can't open it. Something like this.

Developer

Okay, Thanks for the reply! With the Doors is really weird, because I never had any problems or either my testers. Could you tell me which Browser you are using? One of my testers also had problems in Opera GX with low framerates.

We try on two pc, in both cases chrome

Developer (1 edit)

Okay, now it gets really weird, because in Chrome I don't have any problems with doors either. Are you completly running against the Doors? I need to know the issue now ^^,

I tried a few more times now, the jams are gone and the doors are triggering right away. Maybe we tried an earlier version? It's strange that the artist and I ran into similar problems on different computers.

However, jumping needs some work, I think. Each jump is different from the previous one. And together with sliding ladders causes difficulties.

I repeat the visual and the idea I really liked! Good work!
