Nice game!!. I really like it when the character speaks

Submitted(+1)

First of all- my son was excited all the time watching me paly this. As in "Dad! Get that pee!"

But seriously- for a 3 day project this is amazing! The voiceover alone made it stick out from the other submissions! Other than that- simply everything worked! The gameplay was more careful and deliberate than most, but this made the game work even better in this setting.

We have an amazing offer for you. If your son would like to concept a ship for us, we will make a model of it and put it into the game. <3

awesome! I'll tell him in the morning :)

So many great things about this masterpiece! It was super entertaining collecting space stuff while in a calm, space environment. The voice lines were entertaining and had a lot of story. All of this made in just two days. A suggestion would be to add more interactable objects to the setting.

Thanks! Yes, there are alot of concepts we didn't have time to implement. Like space bugs, gravity anomalies, teleports, magnets, more secret places...

The loading screen was quite long, but worth it. The voice lines continually entertained me as I performed a repetitive yet exiting task of collecting space waste. I did find it a bit annoying that there were some very large orbiting asteroids you couldn't see coming because they had no path.

It's always fascinating to see a 3D game made in such a short period of time! Really well done!

Awesome game! I feel like this is the start of a great game. My feedback relates to the jam, but as a prototype I feel like y'all are onto something.

Jam feedback:

  • The voice acting was a fun surprise
  • I think you might speed the character up
  • MOOOARE astroids
  • If you made the character just the spaceship it would simplify the game a lot
  • I love the menu, the game being 2d but the menu giving you an off spectrum perspective of the world does a ton
  • The game was pretty easy to figure out how to play

Also I'm curious you created the destruction? Did you use RayFire?

Developer(+1)

Thank you for pleasant feedback!

We think, that the spaceman, who can switch ships and by himself is quite vulnerable, but has more long distance of catching the boxes, is a key to more deep gameplay. You may use only one ship, if you want, but there are places, where only the spaceman can climb through. Combining advantages of those vehicles may give more effective run.

Also there is another ship hided somewhere around...

We didn't use RayFire. Ships are just divided to pre-modeled submeshes with rigidbody on each of them. And liquid pieces just create smaller copies of them.

Oh gotcha I missed the parts where only the spaceman can traverse! Cool. Your game felt pretty deep for the jam. I loved the feel. Again seriously consider continuing to work on this game. I feel like theres an awesome space adventure game hiding in this game.

I recommend you check out RayFire, it'll do the pre-chunking of models for you. Its a bit hard to use and learn, but once you do it works well enough and has some good performance. It'll occasionally go on sale for around $100.

man those asteroids! haha

i like it tho very chill and cozy, chill music too and great visuals

ngl i chuckled when i heard the voicelines when i figured out how to pick up the boxes

Great visuals, good implementation of the theme. Not sure about the music and voice over. It's cleverly done, but it does not really feel like the right game for it. Makes me feel like I'm in a western of sorts.

I also found the game quite frustrating to play, it's already pretty hard to catch the boxes which are then lost on the smallest of touches (even like another box being flung into you). But the worst were the asteroids with the big radius. You cannot see the trail of those the entire time so often I would just get blindsided by them.

Might also be that I just suck at this great looking game :P
But I'd appreciate to be able to avoid the asteroids, which is perfectly doable for the small radius ones because you see the entire trail, the big radius ones are messing me up though.

Great job on the game !

Developer

About asteroids with big radius - in general we agree with you, but there was a tought behind this design, that player become more effective, whet he explores the surrondings and learns wich places are dangerous and which are rich for loot. Could work better, maybe.
Thanks for feedback.

I liked your interpretation of the theme. I also liked how the sound and look of the game complimented eachother. As for gameplay, i also enjoyed it, i just had a hard time finding anything to collect. Very good game overall!

As soon as I opened I got hit by a meteor 10/10 would try again. On a real note though the game is great love the music. The menu however is what got my attention its creative and has everything you need controls, play, leaderboards. and it doesn't even feel crowded feels just like you're in the ship. the voice acting is....weird at best. Overall great game, enjoyable.

I really like the art and the music. It gives off a moody, kinda sad vibe. I especially loved the voice acting lol. It makes the game quite entertaining. Its nice that there's something to listen to while chilling, collecting boxes. Overall, interesting game!

Submitted(+1)

Interesting game, I definitely wasn't expecting the voice acting Lol. The visuals are decent, it definitely feels like space and I really like the interior of the spaceship at the beginning. Collecting boxes to take to your ship to push back to the station is a cool idea but the ship could've really used a concave front so the boxes don't just slide off the side. I know it does visually but the hitbox seems to be flat. The game definitely feels slower and more relaxing so it doesn't work too well to grind for a highscore, but it's cool as a one-time experience. Overall, good job!

Hey! Thanks for playing!
Our small team have some arguing about this competative side.
From one hand it is moody and player don't want to be in rush, from other - if we have to have a high score, competativeness is on the table by the design. There is a lot of speed run strategies you can use and we have added some secret locations with valuable loot through the level, so finding an optimal run is a good option to have fun in the game.

In any case, we are gratefull for your comment, so detailed and thoughtful.
