Very clever and well executed concept! The presentation and music perfectly nails a Dreamcast vibe, and the characters designs are so fun. I liked how the lore makes you wonder about what the previous section and cutscenes could have been about, felt like stumbling on to a forgotten RPG of the era on someone's save data. Combat system was pretty cool too!

Developer(+1)

Glad you enjoyed both the concept and the execution!

"Stumbling on to a forgotten RPG of the era on someone's save data" is exactly what we were going for — it's like you were in the Team Pretzel Discord with us while we were talking it through! — Limey

Curse that wretched Bowhardy! I like it how Boyhowdy is the MC, when so many other developers (myself included) have made him the villian... or at least a complete pain in the butt. Really enjoyed the concept everyone, you nailed it! Also, huge shout-out to those cutscenes, they're crazy good.

Developer(+1)

I really enjoyed hero Boyhowdy too — it gave us so many excuses to make fun of him! Those cutscenes are all so good because of Subterranean Loser! - Limey

Great idea, and I love how you went about it. You really nailed the end of game feeling. Running around the town with that orange sunset really made me feel like I was about to finish a long adventure. I also really appreciate how well you were able to imply what the character dynamics have been before this point. And of course, the visuals are fantastic. Really well done. Now you just need to make the first 49 hours and 35 minutes.

Glad you had fun! No promises on us getting to the first 49 hours and 35 minutes. - Limey

Wonderful, the "after story" vibe is super refreshing. There's so much to love here! I love the fun dialogue and the cool battle system that was so well detailed. Excellent 3d models and superb character designs! The final boss design in particular is outstanding!

Developer(+1)

Thank you for your kind words on the story and dialogue! As for combat and character designs, I agree — Ether Penguin, Moosemaid and Pixelcod really knocked it out of the park! - Limey

Love the idea of having an existing save file you have to choose. Also great story, environment/character designs and combat mechanic!

Developer(+2)

Thanks! shout out to Limey on the narrative and Etherpenguin on  the battle systems.

Great idea to fit the time limit into the narrative of the game itself. Very nice character models.

Thank you! - Limey

Absolutely love the fixed camera angles and overall presentation so much.  Hard to pinpoint exactly, but it really has a Dreamcast-very early PS2/GC/Xbox sort of vibe that resonated strongly with me.  I also adore the fresh take on turn based combat.  Fantastic job everyone!!

Developer(+1)

We were totally going for the dreamcast vibe so I'm glad it came through!

Music was fire. UI was beautiful. The jokes hit. I also really loved the yellow sweater design with "creep" on it lol.

Developer(+2)

Glad you had a good time! Happy the jokes hit. - Limey

Impressive how you really captured that classic JRPG feeling without just relying on using ps1 style visuals. The writing was great and the constant boyhowdy disrespect was 10/10.

Glad you had fun with our game, and super happy that you liked the writing! - Limey

Really cool presentation during combat with the animations and the slick UI, overall style is great.

Thank you! I was very excited at the chance to design an RPG combat system for the jam
