This is such a nice Concept, I love all the references (Dome Romantik is hilarious) and the Game was really fun (Epic to be exact (; ) GREAT Job :D
The boot music alone sold me <3
And what a rollercoaster of emotions :D Very nicely done and such good polish!
perfect execution of the topic i'd say :D must admit i am too lazy to actually play through it after reading the tutorial but good job <3
That was very creative! I enjoyed how you implemented the topic. And goblins are just adorable :)
I must admit I got a bit tired of clicking the buttons to get back and forth into the programs! Maybe it would be helpful to have fewer control options or easier ways to open the programs, as the main challenge (how to beat the game) would still be there. Right now it was a bit more of "How to beat the controls" for me :D I also thought that I do not install the game as after you click "Yes" there is no indication that it is installed. Maybe some sound would be a clue to check your desktop! And there is "Space/Enter - Confirm (Menu)" in the controls list, but I only could use space to enter the game.
A solid game! And thank you for the guide, that really helped to get on the right track :)
Thanks for the feedback! I realized towards the end that it's a bit tedious to switch versions. So for me it was a question of player comfort vs. game theme. In my case, I really wanted to retain the feeling of an operating system (which is unfortunately sometimes very click-heavy :D). I hoped to create a good mixture of comfort and theme by giving the player a shortcut to the store page. And yes, I also noticed later that the install button has no feedback. But unfortunately there was no more time.
Just to explain my thoughts on this.
Thanks again for the valuable feedback and for your message <3
This is probably the most creative submission I’ve seen in this jam so far!
An absolutely creative concept with tons of potential, and it nails the theme perfectly. I’d definitely recommend continuing development after the jam!
That said, I would have never figured out some of the solutions without a guide. 😅
Mama mia, that noodleOS sure is fun to use :D A great twist on the theme, showing how games get released "Kaputt" and only fixed over time. Love all the small details and fixes in the game and the overall process. Amazing job
I like the idea and the implementation is nice, using the broken character controls to get past the obstacle was cool
