Very cool idea! I got hole in ones on all levels except "goodbye", which had so many lines that I didn't think I could get past them. I think with some clever level design and some variations on the swap pattern this could be a full game.

really neat concept and the execution was simple yet polished! Great idea!!

I like how reaching the goal makes this really satisfying sound, and also the whole concept of swapping between the two maps is really fun.  I wish it would keep track of stroke counts like regular golf :)

Great game! The SFX are really well done. The concept is simple, but it leads to some really interesting levels. The minimal art helps a lot with focusing on the level itself, and being able to bounce the ball from a distance and get it in with a single shot feels really satisfying.

Really fun, clever and polished experience - loved to play it and would love to play more levels :D Took me a couple of levels to figure out the full potential fun of the game, but when i got the controls it was super cool.

I think that with some more levels,  polished designs and visual art it will be 10/10

Absolutely fantastic! Completely in the spirit of both the jam theme and the PlayDate itself. I had an absolute blast playing and would happily pay for a full version. The intro and thank you screens both being in-game was a really cute touch. I think adding a par to aim for could be fun in the future if you continue with this project. I did find one bug that caused a dreaded e1 crash. If you crank the level to trap the ball between/in 2 walls the game freezes for a few seconds before crashing. This happened for me in the “thank you” level, probably because the layout makes this eventuality more likely. I’m certainly not marking you down for that though as these things are just part of a game jam!

Glad you had a blast!! Good to know that can crash the game, the worst I'd gotten was a terrible noise lol. The collision resolution is very janky in that scenario but didn't seem to be game breaking in my experience so i avoided touching it more, but if I crashed i would have! Par scores are also probably the number one thing I would have added if I had a little more time to evaluate the levels, would absolutely add that if I made a full version. Thanks for the feedback!!

Michael... this was a GREAT game. truly has potential for many more types of puzzles and golfing mechanics.

very creative and satifisying. i did enjoy the way the game is introduced on the welcome page.

Excellent entry - I'm a sucker for a golf game, and this is a unique twist. It's satisfying to line up both your shot and the level swap. I want to play more of this :D

Michael - you did an awesome job here. I found myself in a flow state from the start all the way through. I wish the ball settled a little bit sooner (mainly because i have so much excitement to take my next shot)

Being able to have a second way to influence/improve your shot was such a clever idea i'd never seen before. Worthy of a full release if you ever want to take this further.

Also the music + sound really helped settle me in / feel at ease while playing this very chill game.

Thank you!! So glad you enjoyed!!

Hole 3 is where this mechanic gets truly interesting, but I found it awkward to quickly switch between modes because the ball moves decently fast and there's an adjustment period in aligning the crank. There's also the opposite problem where the ball becomes too slow to cross barriers and you have to wait to regain control so you aren't engaging with the mechanic for a while.

The level design is really interesting in Level 5's funhouse if it weren't for the fact that white's layout completely locks you into the starting area so choice of pathing is fairly linear despite the maze layout. I also struggled with navigating corners as it was a blind guess if my aim gave me a good reflection angle, but that allows for Pool-like skill expression so I can't be too mad.

Love the concept here and think this could be a lot of fun in different ball games like Pong or Breakout where there isn't a need to switch off of the Swapping mode back and forth. Nice submission!

This is great feedback thank you! I shared many similar frustrations during development and would definitely look at adjusting some aspects of the mechanic if I come back to this. I thought about slowing down time a bit to encourage real time swapping but just never really got around to exploring it further. And then there's waiting for the ball to stop lol... could maybe even allow the player to skip to the end of a roll. The switching modes actually happens automatically whenever you shoot the ball but it's not explained anywhere and probably should be!

brilliant, just brilliant
