This game needs music, also it may be fun to activate those flying rocks by shooting them with echo, the monsters don't respawn after you kill them, checkpoints should have some visual or sound effect, echos should have a cooldown so the player doesn't spam the shooting.
The game looks cute but there isn't much of a challenge, maybe an enemy that shoots at you would help.
Short and sweet, a good start for a new development! Need to work on controls a bit other than that cute graphics.
This was an interesting concept. Felt like it could use a little more polish, but that should come with time and experience. Heads up for people trying to play this: I had issues getting the game to work for me with Firefox, but it worked fine in Chrome, so keep that in mind.
I agree with other people's comments on the controls being an issue. In a case like this, I'd say the best thing to do is take a "more is better" approach. You can keep the arrow keys for movement, but also have WASD control movement. There isn't much reason to not let players use whichever they want. Similarly, you can all pressing up (or W for WASD) to jump, as that's still fairly popular. I'm also not sure the purpose of letting players aim with the mouse, considering that pretty much everything you can shoot is on the same elevation as the player at some point. I'd also suggest looking again at your hitboxes. There was one part (level 2 I think) where it visually looked like there was ample room on the other side of an enemy, but the game disagreed. In general, it's better to have the hitboxes be a little smaller than visually indicated that a little larger, so I'd keep that in mind. Additionally, it would be nice if only the bottom side of the crushers hurt the player, as I was not expecting to be hurt by every side of it. (at that same level, my second thought after realized I couldn't fit on the other side was to jump on top of it, which didn't work either).
Overall, a good first game (at least from what I see here on itch), but looks like it could have used a little more playtesting and refinement.
This felt like a fine entry, especially since you mentioned you're a new developer!
As I'd imagine others have probably already mentioned, it's really awkward using the arrow keys to move, space to jump, and clicking to shoot. Changing the jump key to the up arrow would have helped out a lot with this.
Not a big fan of the unskippable cutscene and I don't have enough hands to controls the arrows, the spacebar and the mouse at the same time. It's also a shame that the "echo" doesn't bounce at all and is just a normal projectile.
That being said, it's pretty solid for a first game and the mechanics works well, so good job !
I think this is pretty good as just a short little platformer. I know you've heard it in other comments but the controls definitely needed some work, if you didn't have to aim with the mouse then arrow keys and spacebar would have been fine, although unconventional. The problem comes from where your hands have to be placed to play the game. Overall though, if controls are the biggest issue with the game I think you can confidently say that the game was pretty good and you should be pretty proud of it for a new developer only having 3 days
I managed to finish it! This is a great start! The use of the arrow keys and a trackpad made the controllers a bit awkward. I would prefer to use WASD. And maybe aim with the arrow keys since the jump button is Spacebar? 8 direction would be plenty enough for these levels. :)
I don’t like the controls either but the way I did it, it was tricky to fix them. Thank you for your feedback!
Short and sweet. I really like the sound effects you used. I was not expecting the intro, I liked it. The biggest issue is the length, but I'm pretty sure you know that. Also, the controls are a bit counterintuitive, maybe you should make it so you can jump with the arrow keys too. It was fun tho.
oh, and I think it would be better if the echo weapon bounces off the walls and floor, that could gives the game more variety and would fit the theme a bit better.
The controls were strange but unfortunately because of my game engine it is difficult and unreliable to change. Thank you for your feedback!
First up, congratulations on completing the game jam.
While it was fairly short, it was quite a fun one to play. It felt complete with no bugs sticking out, which is great!
A couple things which could add to the gameplay would be if the player could stick to either keyboard or mouse for input. Tightening up the controls and adding a bit more forgiveness for the jump would come in handy too.
The mechanic of blasting enemies with a sound pulse was really interesting and might be cool to be able to use the sound pulse in different ways, like ricocheting off objects, or maybe using it to resonate, etc.
A background score and some simple animations for when the player dies, respawns, etc. could liven up the game a bit more, but pixel art can be quite time consuming to get right and I think you've done a pretty cracking job to begin with!
I hope you enjoyed making the game as much as I enjoyed playing it through to the end :)

The controls are difficult with my game engine I didn’t like them either but I didn’t have time to fix them. I love your ideas for the sound wave and I wish I had thought of them because they are amazing. Thank you for your feedback it really helps me improve!
The game was a little short but fun.
Gameplay wise it was difficult because you have to use arrow keys, if you had used WASD you could play the game without constantly switching between keyboard and the mouse. I feel like the game would have fit the theme better if there was some "echo" where maybe your shot bounces of walls, or maybe the enemy sends a signal back when you hit them, something like that
