It can definitely be an addictive arcade game with new enemies and some fixing. I thought it was pretty bad until I realized that I cold double jump and everything made more sense. echo weapon was nowhere to be seen tho
The game over screen was bugged so i had to alt+f4, my score is 30, you should make some visual effect for where the enemies are going to spawn, also make something like a coin to spawn so you can gain extra score to add a risk/reward situation, and maybe a slow enemy that can destroy the echoes.
I'm a big fan of scores in jam entries, but in this game it wasn't particularly difficult to avoid the birds or falling spikes, so I think I could have gone on forever. I love the idea of one of the player's projectiles being a moving platform that they can ride, but in the current version of the game, I didn't find much purpose in using that given how much mana it cost.
Overall, though, this feels like a fine entry :)
The particle effects and the global aesthetics are nice, but the game itself isn't really fun. It's pretty slow there isn't really an increase in difficulty.
Love the aesthetics. Simple yet potentially addictive game loop. Given a bit more time I could see this working very well as a mobile game!
Has a well-balanced difficulty, really got me in the zone a times. I really enjoy the ability that you can ride because of how unique it is. It would be cool if your character was automatically carried along by that ability instead of having to move. A little more color would also help me to understand what's going on at times. Overall great job, especially as a first game jam game!
