Wow I'm really happy to hear all of that :). I'm glad you appreciated my (very inexperienced) pixel art skills! I'm glad you appreciated the echo speed slider, and thank you for the feedback on difficulty too as that's what I was focusing on.

I'm glad you eventually found that top slider, especially with the later levels being far longer. Perhaps I should have made it more obvious what it does lol. I definitely agree that the orientation of the blocks should have stayed the same, and as for the unnecessary blocks I appreciate your perspective on that. I did feel a bit cheap at times adding "artificial difficulty" in the more of useless information like that, but it's interesting to hear how it may have been enjoyed by some. Thanks for all the feedback!

Yes I totally noticed during playtesting that the levels resetting got frustrating. If I could go back I would definitely add that as a feature. Thank you for your feedback on the difficulty and for playing all the way through!

Hahah, I definitely had so many ideas like that while making this. I love the idea of how portals would play into everything. Thank you!

I was really going for simple to understand but hard to master with this, so I'm glad you saw that in the game. Thank you and I'm glad you appreciated it :)

I do agree that for a typical puzzle game, length should not be an issue. However, I understand what you mean about it being too long for a game jam game. My hope is for people to play through most of (if not all) of the game, and I do admit that I pushed myself to create an arbitrary amount of levels that may have been more than needed and so I appreciate the feedback. Thank you!

Firstly, I love the pixel art in this game. I can definitely see that effort went into the visuals and animations. The idea of having to work your buildings around generators instead of just placing them randomly like most tower defense games is great as well. I think that having a little more content as well as a slight bit of polish in the UI and such would really benefit this game. Very nice :)

This is by far one of the most original and unique games I've played. It has a strange sort of feeling or atmosphere to it that I really enjoy. Sort of creepy, but almost calming and nostalgic. Your interpretation of the theme is also great, it's really outside of the box. I do think that adding a little more gameplay (while still maintaining that sandbox-type style!) would help it hold attention longer. The gameplay doesn't even need to be too unique though, as I found myself looking for any reason to play just a little bit longer so that I could continue being immersed. Would love to see similar games, or even an updated version of this one in the future :)

I really enjoyed this game, and it is some of the most fun I've had playing games in this jam. The grinding is addicting and atmosphere is really immersive. One pretty large issue I encountered is that the maxed out sonar stops working, leaving you blind mostly. My guess is that it's due to some entity/gameobject limit causing new sonar dots to not be spawned. I would also love a little more feedback in terms of combat because it was hard to tell if my shots hit at times. Finally, I was unsure how the oxygen mechanic worked or if it had been implemented fully because I didn't die when it ran out or anything like that. Moving past that, I have a lot positive to say. The music was perfect for this game and really captured the vibes of it well. Your use of the themes was really enjoyable and an integral part of your game. The size of your upgrade tree was nice because it gave me a lot to grind for. The boss at the end was very impressive, my mouth quite literally dropped when it starting throwing it's crazy attack at me. Great job!

I felt a little lost at first, and I definitely think that a sort of tutorial would help to make new players have a better awareness of what's going on. A more cohesive art style would also benefit the visual appeal of your game. However, once I began to understand the mechanics I was impressed by how unique it is. A tower defense game where you get so much direct interaction isn't something you see often. Having your buildings support the interactive mechanic of shooting is a great idea as well. I was also a big fan of the thought and care that went into the menus with their satisfying animations.  Overall I think you are really onto something with this game, keep it up!

I have to say that for a "very newbie gamedev" your art style and animation is impressive. I love the cartoon style of the bat and monsters. On the gameplay side of things, I enjoyed the strategy of having to lure the monsters away from the button at the end in order to press it. I think adding a sort of attack or dash would make it a lot more interactive and interesting, but I think it turned out great anyways! Keep up the good work :)

Very understandable, had to make some cuts in the music department unfortunately lol. I really appreciate your comment, thank you :)

I definitely understand what you mean, and I appreciate you mentioning the difficulty of levels because I struggled with tweaking it due to already knowing them. Thank you for the feedback! :)

I appreciate you saying this because after considering it more, I think I could try more for puzzle that aren't overwhelming with too many choices and rather revolve around a simple problem. Thank you :)

PS: Love the art style in your game btw!

Hahah awesome to hear, thank you! It means a lot that you played all the way through :)

Thank you I appreciate it :). I was very curious about how well a person with no prior knowledge would understand the new blocks so thank you for giving some insight.

Wow, thank you for the extremely thoughtful feedback. I appreciate the pickiness because that's where the real improvement happens! Will definitely use this to hone my skills :)

Art style and sound/music is amazing. Wonderful vibes and atmosphere.

Has a well-balanced difficulty, really got me in the zone a times. I really enjoy the ability that you can ride because of how unique it is. It would be cool if your character was automatically carried along by that ability instead of having to move. A little more color would also help me to understand what's going on at times. Overall great job, especially as a first game jam game!
