the way the orchestration picks up as the piece continues really reminds me of a lot of classic videogames i played when i was a kid... the gentle control of the dynamics and energy throughout work so well! nicely done! :~)
the way the track returns to that calmness around 1:25 to wrap up is a nice touch!
Very beautiful piece! The colors created by the orchestration were a joy to listen to--I always love piano runs. Even though I feel the "clumsiness" in the track, I would have liked to hear more about the game or your thought process about the musical ideas. Great job!
What a great orchestration and ideas !
I loved the colors, and the climax at 1:30 is just beautiful ! It made me think of Abzu's OST, which I adore.
It is a bit short, I would have loved to hear more with such great ideas and execution.
Well done, really !
Always been fan of orchestra music! Well done! Love your piece!!!
Thanks for the kind words!
As others have said, you've definitely got a knack for orchestral scoring. Did not realize this was done in Muse Score before reading the description - mixing and production is very solid. There are some wonderful textures and voicings in this. Each section stays appropriately busy without the entire passage getting too crowded. I love how the woodwinds in particular are really taking to the forefront of this - such a beautiful sound that can often end up lost in the mix in other cases.
At points this really reminded me of something I might hear in one of the earlier Legend of Zelda games - particularly the section around 0:43 - it just has this kind of cheeky curiosity that the LoZ games tend to capture so well. Kudos on the piano playing throughout this as well, it does a fantastic of providing some ear candy and lapsing into the supporting role when required.
Fantastic piece as a whole - great work! Best of luck.
Thanks so much for the kind words, I did take some orchestrational inspiration from the most recent Zelda game's use of woodwinds just because I love their bold timbre. Felt that the suggestion of breath in an instrument also makes things more humanlike even if it's just MIDI. I'm glad that some of that influence came through!
Aha, that explains it then! It immediately put me in that kind of space mentally and after not having played a Zelda in about a year now, transported me all the way back. Truly a delight to listen to.
You clearly know what you're doing with orchestration, really good composition skills :) ! The music has a lot of evolution, it knows when to be discreet and when to push the emotion forward. Just beautiful really, good job !
Thanks so much!
really really loved this, your composition and mixing skills are stellar, great work!! I actually got Dragon Quest vibes right from the start!
Thanks so much, love to hear it!
Reallllly great work!
Thank you!
Amazing interpretation of freedom oh i dig it so much, also just a beautiful track!
Thanks for the kind words!
The aspect of newfound freedom coming with clumsiness is such a unique take on the theme! It reminded me of the ending of Wall-E when the humans stumble back onto earth. A really standout idea!
The music itself reminded me a ton of Pikmin which is high praise!
There was like 2 minutes of nothing at the end of the youtube video though. that might have been a mistake.
Thanks so much! The gap in the youtube link is definitely a mistake but I was getting sleepy lol. I'm not too familiar with Pikmin music but would love to find some good tracks to listen to. Got any recs?
my #1 favorite pikmin song is tropical wilds from pikmin 3, but other good ones are really any area themes from the games
Huge will def check out thankss
Very cinematic and magical. I like the choice of instruments and the chord progressions are top notch. I can totally see the cutscene in my head: characters standing in the middle of an old enchanted forest, embracing the freedom...
But, what image do you see? I'm interested, haha
Thanks for the kind words. I think in the writing of it all I did picture something similar, but upon revisiting this a few days later I've found myself picturing something completely different! Now, I kind of see something along the lines of putting down a sketchbook or some other nostalgic memento from the early days of learning. And letting go of it to tackle something new? Not sure and maybe I'll feel different later too lol
very good stuff I'm glad to have heard your submission :)
Thanks!
This is beautiful! I really like the extra detail of the clumsiness that comes with freedom, and I can completely feel that. Put this in every game and movie immediately please and thank you.
Thanks! Appreciate the kind words
beautiful! love the piano especially :)
Thanks so much!
