Ballad Of The White Goddess: These harmonies are so cool, was fun trying to analyze them all as it went. Great piano work!
Item Acquistion: Satisfying, effective.
Silverstein: BOTW vibes. Love the little touches of Dorian feel.
Sky Race: Bouncy piano! Pleasant surprise from the VII chords if I heard that right.

Great work! Each track was a treat.

Your analysis is so appreciated <3 I’m really glad you enjoyed them, thank you so much! (sneaky modal interchange hehe)

I like the feel of the piano in the first track - nice!

Developer

Thank you, I’m glad :) I rely on the piano a lot haha

This music collection is wonderful. Each instrument feels like a living thing.

Developer

Thank you Simizy, I’m happy you felt that way - that’s always my exact intention :)

It might sound silly but I think the inclusion of the Item get sound was really great because it made the tacks feel like they were from a game more than a movie or something which is cool!

Developer

Thank you for saying that! I really appreciate it :) I was desperate to make menu music and shop music too. Sky Race was an unfinished battle theme (I imagined turn-based combat). Wish I had more time that weekend.

This is a beautiful track, I really enjoyed listening to it! Great and thoughtful compositions, especially the piano parts are really good! :)

Developer

Thank you Mia :) I'm really glad you enjoyed listening to them!

Definitely hear the Hiromi influence in here, and I love it!! My favorites are the opening and final tracks!

Developer(+1)

Really glad to hear it, thanks Chandler :) (those two required the most brain juice)

i love how playful the piano is in these pieces, my favorite is easily ballad of the white dragon. great stuff overall :D

Developer(+1)

Thank you Charmie! It's also the one I spent the most time on :)

First of all, Ravel is my favorite composer!! I definitely can hear so much of him in Ballad of the White Dragon. Your opening reminds me of Jeux d'eau, haha. And I love Joe Hisaishi's works. And Hiromi. They are so talented, and so are you! And I am also so biased towards the piano, being a pianist myself. Wonderful works!!

My favorite track is definitely the Ballad. Sky Race is cool too. Keep up the great work!

Developer

Thank you so much!!! I was such a huge fan of your tracks, so beautifully orchestrated - I was blown away by the talent! I really appreciate the kind words, especially from a fellow Pianist :’) it’s refreshing to hear that our influences align so closely.

Ha! I'm a massive Ravel fan.  I recognize the Jeux d'eau little hook at the beginning! :P What piano VST are you using? I need to reevaluate the ones I have on hand.

Anyways... feedback. Overall very good. To try to find constructive feedback on this gorgeous track, I'd say maybe it potentially doesn't feel as close to reflecting the theme as it could, but that's a small matter because it still works excellently.  And, maybe it doesn't deviate enough from Ravel's existing works, recognizing that little hook and knowing his works really well I can hear which pieces were inspiration. I've been working on doing a lot of improvising to try to intuit Ravel's musical language because it's like its own genre of music. Other "impressionists" don't take me to the same world. To me, Ravel himself completely invented a new style that hasn't been adequately developed. It would be like if there was only one composer of Baroque music.

Anyways, good stuff, love geeking out about Ravel.

Thank you so much!! I’m just playing it in using my NORD actually. Nothing better than the real thing, but it’s the closest I’ve got (means I can’t mess with MIDI so I have to perform the recording just right, which is time-consuming)

Loving the Ravel passion!!! Ravel’s music is like Clockwork, the way he writes for piano is so alien compared to every other composer - such a genius. I admit it was a little derivative due to time constraints, I wish I could sit with the whole catalogue longer and draw from his music more conceptually, but he certainly wasn’t my only influence - just a convenient springboard.

Thank you for the feedback and kind words :)

Georgous... uh, georgious. uhhhh, gorgious... hm, good soup.

(Jokes aside, great work! Sky Race made me make a sound somewhere between an inhale and jazz-enjoyers hmm)

Developer

Ahahahaha!! Thank you :) there was 2 hours left till submission when I started that one, so I just played that on the piano quickly. It was method because it was the sound of jazz-hyperventilating.

These pieces are great. "Ballad of the White Dragon" in particular had that extra spice (especially from 0:45-1:02)

Developer

Thanks NiSSAK, I was a big fan of your compositions. I'm glad you enjoyed my little dribble of jazz spice.
