Description
The genre I typically compose in is somewhere along the lines of ambient mixed with some classical components. For this soundtrack I was using elements from those genres towards a minimalist approach to the compositions, similar to what you might hear from Philip Glass.

I imagined this game as a very narrative-driven project with a strong artistic identity, that focused on the child in pink and their relationship to the bubble character as they explore the world. The soundtrack was written as a means to embellish each part of the adventure, from the initial steps to the last moments before leaving the world. This was the thought process I had in mind when writing for this theme.

I focused primarily on smaller melodies that could be built up over time to give the tracks a bit of movement. I would then layer the tracks with different instruments or with additional notes that fleshed out the different ideas. For the software, I used MuseScore to write out all of my compositions and used Garageband to record and mix the tracks themselves.

How does it fit the theme?
As mentioned above, I interpreted the artwork as being the cover of a game that focuses on exploring the character's world. This exploration of the world is where I drew inspiration for the 'Theme' of my soundtrack. It's intended to give an uplifting feeling about going on an adventure that's more exploratory than it is dangerous. For the track 'Ambience', I wanted to give some background music to the game's world while the characters are exploring. This was the result of trying to write a piece of music that might be played for an (presumably) underwater world.

The last two tracks were written with for the endgame. 'One Day, Every Bubble Pops' was written to represent the very meaningful relationship that the two characters have, even though bubbles do not last forever. As for 'Theme (Reprise)' I wanted to write a track that represents the child in pink reliving their memories of the world and the adventure shared with the bubble character. They are away from it, but still thinking fondly of it.

Incredible sounds! Really enjoy the soundscapes you created, the mix also really does something for me. Very enveloping. What plugins you primarily use?

Thank you for listening - I'm glad to hear you liked it!

For this submission I went with a pretty straightforward setup, with some very light compression on most instruments and quite a bit of reverb with varying duration/pre-delay. I wrapped up mixing mostly with EQ's for balance, and that's basically it. Feel free to message me if you'd like more details! :)

Thank you very much for your kind words!

A lot of time and care went into putting this piece together, and it took several takes to record the parts in the way I envisioned it. I'm very glad that it resonated with you so much. :)

I really like the panning effects in a lot of the ambience in the tracks. The piano work is really good. I am not sure if I am hearing it correctly but it sounds like there is some isolated frequencies being boosted in the EQ too? I think it is a cool effect and works well for ambience. This was a nice listen, Great work!

I adore the ambient/classical vibe that you went for! The soundtrack is produced very beautifully and definitely kept my ears intrigued throughout your pieces. Even with the minimal parts of Ambience, I was still latching on to something the whole time. One Day, Every Bubble Pops was definitely my favorite. Extremely beautiful and the background instrument (I can't quite make out what it is) was an extremely nice addition. Thank you for the entry!

Thank you very much for listening and leaving such a kind comment!

The background instrument you're hearing is a guitar played very high on the neck, with a bit of stereo delay and LOTS of reverb :)

The music here reminds me of the section in a game where you could just sit there and reflect as long as one needed to until the player is ready to keep going. Solid stuff!
