Description
This soundtrack is primarily made up of a folk ensemble with additional orchestral and synth elements. It was inspired heavily by the Spiritfarer soundtrack. I composed in Logic Pro, and primarily utilized the Hearth and Home Folk Ensemble from pianobook and the free Discovery BBC Orchestra from Spitfire.

A Sailor's Wish is an imaginary 2d platformer, in which a lost sailor must find and return all the stars to the sky in order to make a wish and be reunited with his family.

- Then the Stars Fell: Would play during the beginning of the game, when a shooting star turns to meteor shower turns to falling stars.

- Scattered, Alone: Upon finding your first star, you find it is able to communicate with you. It is lonely, like you, and far from its siblings. It asks you for help to return everyone to the sky, and offers you any 1 wish if you achieve it.

- Ship Repairs: This song could play at a ship repair location, or while doing some sort of mini-game in which you fix the ship.

- The Trade Ships: This song would play while you are at the Trade Ships location, in which some odd but helpful tradesmen offer to buy and sell you wares.

- A Star Returned: You are on your way to getting your wish, as you return a star to the sky.

“Ship Repairs” made me think it was a type of village theme at first before reading your description.

“The Trade Ships” kinda has a spooky feel to it haha

Good work!

This lineup of track has a great vibe and theme to them
They're sort of slow and I mean that as an absolute compliment. They're slow in a way that makes it feel like its taking time to tell a concise story and build context, and I love that. I esp liked the 'Traded ships theme
Wonderful work!

Love how the tracks tell a story, and each track is unique for what they represent. Really cool entry!!

Then the Stars Fell: The simplicity of your orchestration and the use of dorian mode gives the folky sound that definitely would accompany a sailor out on the ocean. I like the gentle pulsing between the heavy drones which feels like small waves between large swells. The bowed strings that enter partway into the song give a great imagery of the shooting stars increasing in number.

Scattered, Alone: These textures are so cool. It sounds like you are using a reverse pluck of a piano or mandolin which has a very spacey feel to it. There is an ominous and barren quality to this track that definitely captures the alone-ness. The piano arpeggios make it feel slightly less so and is good musical representation of the star that the sailor finds.

Ship Repairs: The more upbeat nature of this piece makes it a great change of pace for a mini-game or task-based portion of the game. This is a great use of polyrhythms as well that gives a sense of busy-ness to the work you are doing to repair the ship.

The Trade Ships: What a fun song! I like the use of chromaticism in the unsettling, yet somewhat playful melody.

A Star Rescued: The I-bVII vamp sounds so satisfying as a conclusion to this OST. I really like the melody you’ve written overtop and the plucked countermelody adds so much to it even through the sparseness of the accompaniment. Thank you so much for sharing your work!

that bit at 1 minute in ship repairs did NOT have to go that hard, wtf.  Great stuff overall!  That main string instrument that stuck around for all the tracks glues it all together really well.  Fun stuff, and a pretty unique sound relative to a lot of the other submissions!

I absolutely love when the guitar comes in on the first track. It really feels like the start of something. I love the melody that comes in later on too and the two chords are perfect for setting an adventurous and mysterious tone. The last song is my second favorite and nice and conclusive. Beautiful work as usual :)

I really like the plucked instruments here, gives a nautical vibe. Especially in Trade Ships, makes me imagine some crooked Venetian trader (aka pirate). Very unique entry. Thanks for sharing!

really solid collection of whimsical seafaring tunes here!

This is a good set of pirate sounding themes that all fit really well together! The instrumentation gives ship/sea vibes, and everything is well mixed here. Ship Repairs is definitely my favorite. Great work!

Very cool entry! I think Ship Repairs is my favorite song on here, idk why but i think its the general mood of the song, feels good to listen to, like a happy-chill-cool type of feeling. Either way, all of the songs here do sound like they come straight from a real game set around the sea. Kudos to you for that!

The folk instruments sound great, I love the tone and atmosphere in Scattered, Alone. Great job!

Easily imaginable as a game soundtrack. I liked the heavier sounds in the middle of the second track ('Scattered, Alone') which gave it a sense of something significant in the game having been introduced.
