The concept is good, but the difficulty is very high. Upon further experimentation, it appears that something that contributes a large amount to the difficulty is the way splitters work. My expectation was that they'd split the item stream evenly between items: i.e. send an item in direction 1, then send the next to direction 2, then the one after that to direction 3, assuming the input can be accepted by all directions. Instead, the splitter appears to simply use directions 2 and 3 as overflow in the event that direction 1 cannot receive the item. This makes it very hard to make sure that you're getting, for exmaple, both stone and brick, or converting the right amount of iron into the components while also maintaining enough raw iron, etc., without a lot of micromanagement.
Since I am a little inattentive, I spent some time changing the piece :) The game seemed less intuitive to me and I was stuck every minute, but I could not complete the task. But overall, the game looks cool :)
Yeah, I think some of the requirements are a bit too hard to complete. Thanks for playing!
Really nice work! The game looks & sounds great, and the gameplay is very engaging if a little difficult. The biggest struggle I had was understanding how each machine worked, for example the iron press took me a while. Despite that, I still enjoyed the game and I think the heat mechanic could make for some interesting machine design challenges. I love how items pop out of the machine with the particle effects, it’s incredibly satisfying. Great job on the submission!
Thanks for playing! Yeah, I agree with you that the in-game explanation of the game isn't good enough. Thanks for the feedback and positive comments!
Very cool game and very polished visuals.
If only I didn't have to right click to unselect the current machine to select a new one from the build menu. Did you optimize this for smartphone usage? Because if the games doesn't have to be in portrait mode you could always display the inventory and the required items for export. I really lost track of them multiple times.
But all in all an impressive game for a jam.
Thanks! I honestly hadn't thought about any mobile platform while making this. Thanks for the feedback, I'll keep it in mind next time.
Neat game. I really like the look. The difficulty of the exports maybe ramps up a little too fast and it would be nice to have a restart button or something when you lose.
Thanks for playing! I agree with the exports. While playing it felt right for me but that's probably because i played the game quite a bit while testing. As for the restart button, I completely forgot about that.
I love games like these. Keep it up!
Thanks, glad you enjoyed it!
This is pretty cool once you get the hang of it!!! Great job for your first jam!
Thanks!
a little tricky to get the hang of at first, (since i have never played games like factorio before), but once things started popping out like confetti i was hooked. addictive little game with so much room for little optimizations and expression. i dig the art as well, really clean and pleasant to look at. my suggestion would be to idiot proof the game a little bit for people like me, because my first two playthroughs i quickly went bankrupt :'(
Thanks for the positive comments! Yep, a restart feature would have been nice. I think I made the game a bit too difficult, but glad you enjoyed it!
