Really cool idea, and cute little guys! Found some levels' designs hard to figure out, but I think that would be easily fixed with more polish ^ ^

(Is that Godot Engine?)

Well done lighting effects - the interaction of light with "normal map" on background looks very cool.
Music that you've used is powerful and kept me going. Enjoyable experience!

Developer

It certainly is Godot! Favorite engine by far.

Thank you!

Once i tried Godot I can't even look at Unreal or Unity. Btw. Godot 4 just entered beta. :D

Pretty good game, I like the puzzle element where you control and utilise the dead versions of yourself to progress.

I found the movement physics to be floaty though and the acceleration when moving left and right feels too strong.

The physics on the minions also makes it awkward when trying to use them as platforms and resulted in some cheap deaths with the spikes.

I also found the audio to be grating to a degree, namely the music and lasers. The music volume could be turned down a tad but it's fine other than that.

This is a good first game effort!

Audio slider is definitely the first thing I plan on adding after the jam is over. Definitely could use some fine-tuning on the physics handling as well. That is generally why the Godot docs warn against using physics based controllers in the first place.

Great game my friend! And the sound just amazing!

I died so many times to the lazer until i read the description that you can also move your clones ;p

Thank you!

I should have added in game prompts for sure, but as you can tell by my main menu, I'm still coming to grips with UI objects in Godot lol

Interesting take on the theme! Could probably zoom in a bit, felt a little too far away from the action. Nice job!

You're right, I switched up how I handled the camera on the last day and didn't do much playtesting with the new camera system. It tends to pull you away a bit more than I expected. I'll tighten that up after the jam!

I love your take on the theme and the scoreboard is awesome too. I couldn't figure out how the scoring worked though lol. Being able to control the minions was a lot of fun, especially when you spawn a bunch of them and just go crazy

I found the jumping was a bit inconsistent sometimes even though it looked like i was grounded. Also the color palette and the camera encompassing all the minions on the map made it hard to see sometimes.

overall very cool!

Developer

Thanks! The score is just the amount of seconds it took you to complete a level, then I load the high scores in reverse order so that player's are ordered by how quickly they completed the level. Originally I wanted to score players based on how few minions they were able to complete a level with but like you said, spawning minions is half the fun so I  made scoring time-based instead!

I noticed the camera is a bit frustrating too, seeing all minions is kind of important for level 5, but it doesn't help the other levels much at all.
