Great game! It's not easy to see what weapon you have though

Good idea! As for the platforming, I wasn't expecting jump height control for a game jam game, but if you had more time you could add a jump delay (allow the player to jump if they press the jump button a few frames before or after touching ground). The art and audio is good (especially the art) and there are a few bugs, but hey, we all have bugs, right?

Good job!

Developer

Thanks for playing! The jump delay is a really good shout, it would really help negate the feeling of unfairness that the jumping currently has especially when you feel you pressed to jump but the character just falls. I wasn’t able to play your game as I don’t have a windows PC.

Sorry I made my game Windows-only! In Ludum Dare 47, when I tried to build for web, it gave me nearly 200 errors in the web console, so I was a bit against HTML builds after that. I'll try again next time, I suppose...

Developer

This was the first time I built for browsers seemed to go ok and I think it helps with less steps to get people to play so it could be worth trying it?

Submitted

It did work for me at Ludum Dare 46 at least... I'll try it. I was thinking of continuing development on this game anyway (a small Android game, maybe?)

Submitted

Ok! HTML build on my game page works perfectly! You can try it now at https://itch.io/jam/mix-and-game-jam-2020/rate/822081 , just quickly! There's only 4 hours left!

Really cool game but the movement needs some work

Developer

Thanks for playing! What was it about the movement that you didn’t like or thought needed work?

Submitted

Interesting concept, but I'd say it's a bit of a bad execution. First of all, you should really show the ammo somewhere, there's no reason to hide it. Secondly, there are a few weird bugs with the finish, which you can move around for some reason and you can play the sound multiple times. The sounds are really nice, though they're a bit too loud imo. It's interesting that you can move the spikes around with your bullets, but they do give off an amateur feel, and besides, I don't think that was the main gimmick of your game anyway.

It took me a while to notice it, but there is definitely an ammo indicator in the bottom-left hand corner of the screen.

Developer

Thanks for playing, sorry you didn’t like the game. Thank you for your feedback we’ll take it into account. The ammo counter is in the bottom right hand corner of the screen, it was put together in a hurry so perhaps it is not as obvious as it should be?

Loved it. Made a few more synapses. Well done creator! Hope to see more from you.

thanks for playing!

Confusing to start working out the different elements, equally part of the fun of it - and also pretty addictive!

Nice visuals! Loved the detail of changing the adjacent tiles when creating a new one!

I didnt understand how to destroy white walls, but the idea is awesome

Developer(+1)

Thanks for playing, playing glad you liked it! The White walls are supposed to be indestructible.

Thanks for letting me know about the bugs there is still quite a bit of work to be done on the collision detection! Thanks for playing!

Love this. Great gameplay. Slick. Fun. Bit addictive.

Developer

Thanks for playing! Glad you liked it!

Daaam ! Definitely one of the most polished and completed games of the jam. Everything works mechanically well together, my only complaint would be the colliders that felt a bit unfair at times.
That's a really solid entry !

Developer(+1)

Thanks for playing, glad you liked it! The collision still needs a bit of work to feel solid.

Sweet game considering it was only done in 48 hours.

Amazing game! The bullet collision is a bit weird though.... Besides that, 10/10!

Neat mechanic, felt like i was playing a 2d version of portal, some music in the background would have been nice but other than that great game :)

I loved this game it was super cool...

- i also found some bugs:

1) The player can die when they reach the end of the level

2) if you shoot at the tob of the block near the spike the block will cover the spike

Developer

Thanks for playing! And thanks for letting me know about the bugs, the collision detection still needs quite a bit of work to be solid!
