game is cool
I had a lot of fun trying this game out. A lot harder than it looks! I did not expect to get killed by maize.
Thanks :) Glad you enjoyed!
cool game!
Thank you! :)
That was A-MAZE-ING!
Ah, a fellow maze-punner I see! Thanks for playing :)
Went into this expecting a lighthearted, whimsical shooter with a fun gimmick. Came out a nervous wreck with a pathological fear of corn. Seriously though, good game.
Haha, thanks a lot, glad you enjoyed! Loved Trial of the Tennis-Lord btw, super addicting! I hope the corn didn't scare you too much ;)
Nice work! I think the character controller feels responsive and great to play. My only real gripe with this was the lacking visual design which contrasted with the otherwise solid gameplay. Overall, though, great job!
Sadly due to inexperience and tight timing we didn't get the chance to include as much in the way of visual design as we would have liked to. We initially wanted to try and include spooky atmospheric lighting and make it more of a horror experience, but the deadline really snuck up on us, so we just had to quickly create a scene that was at least more interesting than our testing platform, with no experience with Probuilder! Thanks a lot for the feedback, will try and take it through to v2 :)
Clever game clever... Well that was a fun experience.Instead of just pressing reload you have to solve a maze in A MAZE :D.The corn enemies are really funny looking i love them.I have collected all of the items but couldnt figure out what to do with them :(.Other than that great game loved it :D
Great to hear you had some fun :) The idea is you put the items on the scarecrow, and that would trigger the end of the game, but sadly we had to scrap this due to time constraints :( Hopefully if we work on it some more we can re-release it as a more complete experience. We really appreciate the feedback :)
Great enty! The game is really clever! The main idea is really great! Reloading and moving is hard. The game works well! Hope you will work on it !
Thanks a lot for the feedback! We're glad you enjoyed the game - we will definitely try and work on it some more, as outside of the core gameplay loop it is somewhat lacking at the moment! Appreciate the kind words :)
This was a brilliant concept. The mazes were a little buggy and my block kept getting stuck in walls. I got jump scared by corn multiple times lmao. Already seen that you're going to continue working on this. Excited to see where it goes.
Thanks for the feedback! It was our first time using Unity and Probuilder and the level turned out a little buggier than we planned, but I'm glad you enjoyed the concept and had a bit of fun :)
Great game idea ! The puzzle mechanic add challenge to the game.
The double jump is not an useful mechanic.
Great game overall, congrats !
Thanks a lot, glad you liked our twist on the FPS genre! Thanks for the feedback on the double jump, although I agree that it's mostly useless, we found it was a fun and effective way of dodging incoming corn! Will definitely re-evaluate if it's actually necessary for the final version. Feedback appreciated!
pretty nice for a first game! i like the consept of needing to sovle a maze to reload, but you are forced to leave the mouse and place your hand in a new position, which isnt ideal, but still you managed to get alot done in a short time frame! good job!
Thanks for the feedback! We thought that creating a mechanic that forced the player to move their hands could create a dynamic where they have to choose between focusing on the maze or focusing on dodging incoming attacks, with the intention of creating tense moments of concentration. It was a very experimental idea so not totally sure if it's perfect and I really appreciate the feedback nonetheless!
no problem!
also i never tought a corn would jump scare me xD
like the puns, trickier than it looks,
Glad you enjoyed!
I bet you think you're so clever with this title, and having this maze shooter take place in a maize maze :) I like how you've used the mazes to make reloading a real challenge instead of just pressing 'R'. And it created some great moments where I was scrambling to solve the maze as 2 pieces of corn were chasing after me!
With all these tight corners, it would have been interesting to see this as a horror game. Neat!
Yes we do think we are pretty clever ;)
The frantic scrambling was exactly the idea we were going for! I'm glad you had some fun with it :) The original idea was that the difficulty of the mazes would increase as you progressed, increasing the pressure, and making the player use each bullet carefully. We also planned for it to actually have a creepy/horror vibe, but due to a huge rush for the deadline, we quickly lit the scene, without time to create a real spooky atmosphere. We are planning on working on the game a little more until it's more complete and updating it.
Thanks for the feedback!
