Awesome! I love the vibe that you can get from using photos as textures - we actually wanted to try that for our game but unfortunately didn't find the time. You guys definitely succeeded in hitting that late 90s/early 00s feel!

Love the visuals on this one, you really nailed the "PSX" style with those textures. The game felt like a complete experience with the intro cutscene, dialogue choices, and credits, not to mention multiple locations - very polished for a jam game! Great work!

I liked the structure and level design of this game, I never got lost and felt like I was always moving towards the next objective. The ending was a nice payoff!

I liked the idea of running from the light, and the sound effects made me jump the first time! I also had the battery fly off a few times when moving my camera too fast. I took a look at the screenshots and the trees and bushes really add to the atmosphere

I like the style, the psx graphics, the menu, the monster - all really good! Being allowed to walk through the corn was also a cool idea, especially at the end when you're running back to the car!

Understood. We've decided to go ahead with using your tool anyways in our game BusCity, the update should be rolling out this week for Android and IOS! Thanks again!

Hi there! Thanks for working on this awesome project and making it freely available! I'm currently working on implementing it into a game and it's working perfectly so far. However, I'm at a point where I'm wondering if there's any way to remove entries in code? For potential GDPR reasons I want to give players a way to remove all of their data. Thanks!

Hi there! The web version should work on all modern browsers. Simply click the 'Run Game' button to start. Let us know if this works for you.

Thanks!

Hi there! Thanks for playing! Please let us know what it was that you couldn't type, so that we can look into what the issue could be. Perhaps it's worth making sure that you are typing a capital letter - the game is case sensitive. We are also yet to test support for keyboard layouts other than English, if that applies to you this may be what is causing some problems.

Thanks!

Hi there! Thanks for playing, and for catching this bug. Was it just this one line that was displaying wrong or did it happen on multiple emails? We will try and look into this as soon as we can and patch it for the next update. Thanks!

Hi there! Thank you for playing, and we're sorry you ran into an issue. We haven't seen a bug like this before, so will look into it as soon as we can. Perhaps it's worth making sure that you are typing a capital letter - the game is case sensitive. We are also yet to test support for keyboard layouts other than English, if that applies to you this may be what is causing some problems. Otherwise, on failing an email three times, you gain the option to delegate (skip). You can use this to move on to the next email and continue playing. Thanks!

Hi there! Sorry, no way to close the windows with the keyboard, that wouldn't be absurd enough! For more info check the description here: BRIEFS 2022 - an absurd collection

p.s. to make things marginally less annoying, maybe try moving the windows to stack the red X's...

Thanks!

Hi there! Thanks for playing! Please let us know what it was that you couldn't type, so that we can try and fix this in our next patch. Perhaps it's worth making sure that you don't have caps lock on - the game is case sensitive. Thanks!

Nice boulder!

Thanks :) Glad you enjoyed!

Thank you! :)

Ah, a fellow maze-punner I see! Thanks for playing :)

Wiser words have never been spoken

Just wanted to add that I have actually found myself coming back to this game again and again, this is probably my favourite game from the jam so far. There's just something so satisfying about the movement and the attacks - the sound, visuals, and tight controls make this an absolute blast to play

Haha, thanks a lot, glad you enjoyed! Loved Trial of the Tennis-Lord btw, super addicting! I hope the corn didn't scare you too much ;)

Wow! This game is a lot of fun, and has a crazy amount of polish for the 48h. I suppose the simplicity of the gameplay gave you time to flesh it out - and it shows! This would work so well as a mobile game, great little timewaster! Some of the small touches like the character changing colour when in range, and the range being quite forgiving, make it feel very satisfying to play. Great work!

Yeah I think a certain level of polish would be required, but this is an awesome start. If you can do this in 48 hours, I think with more time this could be a really cool game, the core mechanics are definitely there. Good luck with wherever you take this!

Wow, really liked the gameplay here, applying different abilities to each tower, super interesting. I agree with those who say it was a little confusing at first, but I also got the hang of it and had a lot of fun. Really impressed that all of this was done in only 48h! More levels, enemy variety, and music would make this awesome! Great game :)

Wow! Loved the art and the core gameplay - super addicting! I have been playing for a very long time, definitely feels great when you hit that jump right on beat. I think this has some serious potential to be a full release. My only issue is the FOV when you dash, it wobbles a bit which can make it tricky to land accurately on a  platform, and though I did get used to it, I think it could be toned down a bit. The music did get a bit repetitive after a while but besides that all the sound and art was amazing, insane that you got all that done in 48h!! Well done, fun platformer with an addicting twist :)

Thanks a lot, glad you liked our twist on the FPS genre! Thanks for the feedback on the double jump, although I agree that it's mostly useless, we found it was a fun and effective way of dodging incoming corn! Will definitely re-evaluate if it's actually necessary for the final version. Feedback appreciated!

Sadly due to inexperience and tight timing we didn't get the chance to include as much in the way of visual design as we would have liked to.  We initially wanted to try and include spooky atmospheric lighting and make it more of a horror experience, but the deadline really snuck up on us, so we just had to quickly create a scene that was at least more interesting than our testing platform, with no experience with Probuilder! Thanks a lot for the feedback, will try and take it through to v2 :)

Great to hear you had some fun :) The idea is you put the items on the scarecrow, and that would trigger the end of the game, but sadly we had to scrap this due to time constraints :( Hopefully if we work on it some more we can re-release it as a more complete experience. We really appreciate the feedback :)

Thanks a lot for the feedback! We're glad you enjoyed the game - we will definitely try and work on it some more, as outside of the core gameplay loop it is somewhat lacking at the moment! Appreciate the kind words :)

Thanks for the feedback! It was our first time using Unity and Probuilder and the level turned out a little buggier than we planned, but I'm glad you enjoyed the concept and had a bit of fun :)

Really love this idea - well executed within 48h! And the art for the cards is a nice touch. I would suggest that the fights are made a little harder but I liked the card based boxing! Good job :)

Really enjoyed playing this - the genre mix makes for some addicting gameplay! The pixel art is nicely done and I love the single use items, makes for more engaging gameplay than some more generic TDs where you just watch the action. Only things I could suggest would be to add more cards and enemy types, and possibly a faster option for the speed as waiting for the slower enemies can take a while. Great fun though! Good job on making this in only 48h!

Glad you enjoyed!

Yes we do think we are pretty clever ;)

The frantic scrambling was exactly the idea we were going for! I'm glad you had some fun with it :) The original idea was that the difficulty of the mazes would increase as you progressed, increasing the pressure, and making the player use each bullet carefully. We also planned for it to actually have a creepy/horror vibe, but due to a huge rush for the deadline, we quickly lit the scene, without time to create a real spooky atmosphere. We are planning on working on the game a little more until it's more complete and updating it.

Thanks for the feedback!

Thanks for the feedback! We thought that creating a mechanic that forced the player to move their hands could create a dynamic where they have to choose between focusing on the maze or focusing on dodging incoming attacks, with the intention of creating tense moments of concentration. It was a very experimental idea so not totally sure if it's perfect and I really appreciate the feedback nonetheless!
