Really cool idea, feels good, and looks VERY good. It is a little hard right off the bat-- I wish it was more of gradual rise in difficulty. There's also no obvious way to control the the good ones apart from the bad ones-- maybe the good ones could be a little heavier, so there was a different feel between them, letting you get them through easier? The steep difficulty curve is really the only thing im not 100% behind here, though, nice job!

I believe that a properly timed flipper swing gives all the control the game needs, but I do agree that it lacks a proper difficuly ramp-up. At the time, I had no idea how to make it harder to play without flooding the whole screen with balls and making it look like a pachinko machine.
Next time I'll try putting less emphasis on the visuals and more on the game balance. Thanks for your suggestion!
This is one pretty polished game wow in terms of graphics and audio.
But... Is it not actually possible to keep the bad guys out forever? Do the bad guys only disappear when it enters the gate and we lose a life? How exactly am I supposed to keep the bad guys out? D:
EDIT: Oh okay they disappear after a certain amount of time. I saw some comments that they can cheese the game but it seems I don't know how to do it and completely suck at this game -- I could only manage to score 44 last time XP
Also just noticed that the background becomes darker and darker as more bad guys slip through the gate.
Very amazing concept. Definitely loved it.
As a developer, I see nothing wrong with being unable to cheese the game :D
I've added some subtle visual cues for when the guy is about to perish, but on a second look, they are pretty ambiguous. That's one explanation I shouldn't have skipped. Thanks for bearing with the game and learning its mechanic the hard way!
I thought this was a cool version of pinball with the gates acting as the flippers/paddles. The visuals are very aesthetically pleasing, nice use of pastel colors and god rays. Even a refractive material on the sphere :) The game itself is simple and enjoyable, but my greatest frustration with it is that of all pinball games - sometimes it's just completely unfair. In every single time I played I ended up losing due to a bad guy falling down between the cracks and there was nothing I could do to stop it from happening. Just a random bad luck of the angle and speed. Great game overall though! Well done.
Thanks for your review, apparently my time writing shaders was well-spent!
As a player, I usually prepare for an inevitable loss and focus on delaying it for as long as possible. I'm certain that won't work for everyone, but I doubt it's possible for a pinball game to be purely skill-based, taking luck out of the equation.
Beautiful aesthetic for the game! It looks super nice, I like how the world grows darker when a 'bad guy' enters the gate. Trying to let some pinballs in is a really unique mechanic, I also think it could be improved if there was some place to try and aim the bad guys rather then just having them disappear over time. Adding in some additional obstacles and maybe making it level based could create a really solid mobile game. My only complaint is that it's not really theologically accurate, there will be bad people in heaven and good people in hell, it comes down to if belief in Jesus rather then overall morality, look at "Romans Road to Salvation" for reference. Again, fun game! Would love to see you continue to work on it!
Thank you for playing and for the pointers!
You got me there, I've definitely put more effort in visuals than my theological training! I thought about adding a portal to "heck" as a goal for bad guys, but thinking about the good guys mistakenly getting there gave me the shivers, so I scrapped it. Now that the game ended up so easy, it probably was a worthwhile idea after all.
Yeah, I know I'm being a bit of a hard-ass about this sort of thing, but I believe it's important to clear up misconceptions when I see them. I still think the game is very good and is an interesting twist on an old mechanic. As for how I know, that's a bit of a more complicated answer, I'd be more then happy to talk to you about it if you are willing to have an open mind and an honest conversation :)
Nice take on the spin ball game :D Love the heavenly aesthetic! I really enjoyed playing the game. Although, the game definitely need more obstacles or some other mechanic to spice it up. I keep playing on forever and realized that it was really easy to cheese the game and never die. I got up to 5000+ but has to quit :'( . However, this was definitely still a great experience overall. Good job!
Wow, great spin on pinball mechanics. Love the idea. The only sad thing is that we cannot see the high-scores of our fellow mini jammers. ;)
