man or women I'm proud of you......putting your game aside you've used that I'm not able to the one and only "GIMP"

5 starts

Whenever I opened GIMP I just pass out..

Developer

haha lots of stack overflow googling required for GIMP

Great concept (even though I took more time than I wish to admit to use the fast forward)

A few criticisms I have are that the music gets old after a while and the fact you control your shield with your mouse makes it a bit inaccurate at times.

But the presentation is great, I like the synthwave aesthetic !

Great job !

Developer

Definitely worthy of that criticism haha, I only had like 20 mins to make the music and it is just a 4 bar melody, even I mute it when I play. Also I should have kept the controls to use the arrow keys to control the shield for sure. Thank you so much for your feedback!

Nice game! When I got smacked, I felt like I got SMACKED. Good juice, and decent level progression! I wish the fast foreword would have been abit faster

Developer

Happy you enjoyed my JUICE, that's a good idea, I will add that feature for sure!

Very nice and well polished, I did find it a bit difficult at times to block attacks because the shield was positioned based on mouse to player position but that is probably just me being garbage. The hits felt weighty and the knock-back from the spikes was really nice. If the game had more levels I might have said the shield could do with being a bit bigger but other than that very cool game.

As for the web build I think you have to tick a box saying that it's a web build because right now its here as a downloadable.

P.S. that is too many cookies

Developer

Thank you! Ya at first i had the controls setup to control the shield using the arrow keys. I probablg should have kept it like that. I will fix that web build too, thanks!

Great polish on this, the knockback from the spikes felt very weighty and it was really satisfying to block the shots. Simple, cool concept that's fun and greatly presented!

Thanks so much! Your concept was one of my favorites so far!

Well done! Good use of the theme in the game mechanics.

I have a poor memory, which makes it a verry challenging game for me. :)

Liked the crt screen shader touch.

Cheers,

Developer

Thank you! I'll review your game tonight!

It was really cool! Your game was perfectally in theme of the challenge! I also like how you use the colors palette!

Good job!

Thank you, I feel like we had similar aesthetics in the end! The color palette called for the 80s vibe haha

A great game ! I like your interpretation of the theme "Future", it was smart. It reminded me the famous game Simon, but applying it to a top-down game make it so much more interesting ! The graphics are just awesome, but I'm not sure you strictly comply with the colour palette. I had a few frustrating experiences with the arrows that would not disappear right after being blocked, and also the shield that rotate while i'm moving since it's difficult to move the mouse in perfect coordination.

Great experience, honestly my preferred game of the jam so far !

Developer

Thanks so much for the feedback! The base colors were all part of the color pallette although due to the post processing effect I added, to make it look like you were playing on an old tv, some of the colors get processed differently before being blitted. Thanks again!
