This is wonderful game, visual style is so pretty cool, and music really good, of cource here a few levels, but that's okay... and about cookies.. it's reference to DeadP?
The game has wonderful art, intertwining light and darkness to craft an immersive atmosphere. The intro animation effectively sets the scene. While the idea behind the combat mechanics is solid, it could benefit from more "juice" liven things up. Nevertheless, the boss encounter is a standout moment. The boss suddenly emerging from the darkness was quite the surprise. Overall, Light's Asylum offers a visually stunning yet brief journey, though some improvements to gameplay dynamics would enhance the experience.
Thanks for the feedback! Glad you enjoyed the boss battle, it even scared the hell out of me the first time I implemented it. Originally it can run through walls so it came in the first level which I wasn't expecting lol. Heard on the combat "juiciness", weve been talking about how to spice that up.
Very cool game. I like the concept. The game ran very smoothly was very polished!
Pretty cool to see a similar mechanic for the limitation that I did, but in a totally different style of game!
I like the art and atmosphere of this game a lot, especially the boss design it's so awesome. I think being able to shoot while I had the shield up made the game a bit too easy, there's no real downside to just murdering all the enemies while I stand there with my shield up and then casually walking my way to the portal. Some feedback on whether or not I was damaging monsters and the boss would be nice too, like a flash on hit or something. Great work on this, I had a fun time playing it!
Some feedback:
There isn't much drawback in holding shield up most of the time (other than not being able to walk). Maybe if it prevented me from shooting I would put it down, but again for that I would need an alternative way to defend myself. Like dash ability. Or health regen items to overheal damage.
