I think there’s a promising game idea here. Although it felt like a glorified RPS because enemy moves were completely unknown, with some extra information you could make it strategic - for example opportunities for peeking at enemy moves. Decent presentation otherwise, like the juicy punch sounds and music.

Developer

Yes, along with animations and attack effects, I'm working on redone some UI, maybe I will show some more info on the enemy before fight or during the fight. I need to balance the game a little more as well, as there is stun mechanic whenever head is damaged or lowering damage whenever hands or legs are hurt, but it is not noticable or hardly have impact on the game.

Excellent idea, I love these turn-based choose-an-action fighters. I had a similar concept I was tinkering with for a quickdraw gunfight game a couple months ago, but I couldn't figure how how to make it this fun. It would be cool to see more feedback, to make it possible to predict the enemy and help inform where to attack/block.

Developer

Yeah, I think I will limit number of moves to used in battle, but making it balanced will require a lot of tests

Pretty good! I like the idea, but I wish the different moves could have had animations or even a still frame. I like the upgrade system though, it gives the game a nice sense of progression.

I would love it if you checked out my submission as well!

Yes, those animations are prepered and can be easliy implement, but couldn't make it in time. Thanks for liking my game!

I could have used some more animation or any real idea of like what strategy to go with other than the randomness of rock paper scissor. But cool nonetheless. Check out my live review at https://www.twitch.tv/scalphamission

Thanks for playing my game. I'm working on nice animations right now, should be ready once Rating period will be finished. I will try to add more depht into the game as well. Right now if you head is injured you got stun, if your hands or legs are hurt your damage using those is less. And hitting torso taking stamina from opponent.

Novel idea! I really like the idea of being able to take both an offensive and defensive action in the same turn. I feel like in some turn-based RPGs, defensive actions can feel like "do nothing this turn" because they don't help you lower the opposition's health– letting you do both at the same time is a great creative solution to that problem!

Nice idea for the game. I think it was better if player can know what enemy will do. For example in many games when enemy attack with heavy attack the animation or icons or something inform player that maybe it is good to make dodge or block attack. Here Idk what I am doing, I don't fell the enemy. Maybe you should make it less random. But also I respect you a lot because make fight games is not easy :)

the kind of game where you get stuck into the one more floor kind of spiral made it to floor 60 and went I need to stop lol. At that point it was 2 round max for  winning. to bad you were unable to add some kind of affect for the different attacks. Nice game defiantly has the addictive part to it.

Developer

Thank you very much. Because of lack of time and because make this game solo, I decided to postpone animations after the jam. Those are mostly done already, but waiting for voting to be ended to push post-jam update! I've designed most of the elements in the game in a way that it is very fast and simple to add more content like new attacks, animation, some Boss Fights. So if you like it, please follow the development as I'm planning to publish regular updates.

ah nice good luck on future updates even just a simple particle effect coming off the legs arms would add a lot to the visual feedback.

Cool game but at the moment you can just sorta upgrade one thing and basically one shot anybody

Developer

it is required some balance. Thinking that lowering damages and lower scaling with levels might work here. But even with that I'm thinking that in current state you can encounter enemy that will beat you.

Hey there, cool idea with the battle tower! I don't really get how you're supposed to know where to block or attack though.

Developer

Thanks, I will add some tutorial later along with some other improvements after ratings end, so feel free to go back to this game.

Cool concept, can't wait to see the version with animations. I dunno if I just had bad RNG, but all of my attacks were blocked on my first attempt. D'oh

Developer

Bad Luck, I'm planning to add animationa and more content, once Rating will be done
