The hands at the bottom are indeed creepy 💀 funny game and great mechanic!

Submitted(+1)

The game is so scary with those hands at the bottom :O But it's fun ^^

Developer (1 edit)

The rumbling sound that gets louder and louder really sells the horror imo. Our sound guy did a good job! Thanks so much for playing our game!

Submitted(+1)

You're welcome ! :) plus you played to mine, you were even the first review ^^

Meatwad get the money, see?

Meatwad get the honeys, G.

I found this game super fun to play! Cool visuals and sound design, and the game over sound is so good haha. It took me a few to get used to the controls, so I died a few times in the beginning, but once you get the hang of it, it's gold. Good job!

Developer

Glad you enjoyed it, thanks for the playthru and feedback. I totally agree, controls feel wild at first, and but as they come into focus start to feel pretty good!

Thanks for playing! The controls definitely take a bit of time to learn and get used to, but once you do, there can be some really cool movement and shooting moments! Some of our playtesters have shared some really impressive skillshots and moments with us, some reaching scores of 150k+

Submitted

It is definitely one of the most fun games of this gamejam, amazing!

Developer

Thank you! Glad you enjoyed.

Games about breaking records are cool.It was quite difficult for me to control, even though this is a trick of the game, but I would like the movement itself to be a little more responsive.Good job!

Developer

Thanks for the feedback, totally hear you that the controls feel chaotic at first.

In case you end up trying again... One trick I've found helps quite a bit is to keep my mouse close to the character. In fact, if you keep it directly below the character and use it mostly for upward movement (downward shootnig), you can then use A & D for your left/right movement and the controls start to feel really good.  The chaotic nature of the controls was something we intentionally chose, but have found that with more playtesting movement actually becomes pretty stable pretty quickly.

Amazing submission!! Nice detailing!

Developer(+1)

Thank you so much. I was also very impressed with the depth and polish of your RPG. Really mindblowing how much it has in it for a 72 hour jam.

Submitted

No matter the circumstance you would get away from those hands

Developer

They be kinda spooky.

Submitted(+1)

I like the graphic style and sound effect. It is very juicy :3 It was hard to shoot enemy and also go up.  Maybe nice to see more power up and change hero controls? Hands is funny and add more challenges.  Good job :)

Developer (2 edits)

More power ups were on the wish list of things we wanted to add, but unfortunately time didn't allow. Only 72 hours, oof! Thanks for trying our game.

To your point about different controls, we debated adding a "space bar" jump command to make vertical movement easier, but after several sessions of playtesting and getting used to the physics we started to find the tradeoff of shooting & movement being on a single control created some really interesting gameplay moments. And, with practice, it's definitely possible to get some really compelling moments from the existing controls that mix skillshots with finessed movement. The highest score we've seen so far is 135k (about a 10-minute session!) So, survival and mastering the conrtols is definitely possible!

Very fun game! I felt the controls little weird, maybe some adjust in force and physic make it better, but still very fun to play, i really liked the squish and the "hands" haha

Developer(+1)

thanks for giving it a try!

Submitted

Very beautifully drawn. Unfortunately, I was unable to jump onto the first platform several times. My browser also tries to save the page when pressing Ctrl - it was not convenient for me(

Developer

sorry to hear that Savidiy.  Ctrl is not one of the games controls/inputs. The only inputs are left click to shoot, which if you shoot down will propel you upward, and A and D to move left and right. I suggest trying again now that you know the controls!

Submitted

Really cool game. Probably too hard for me though lol. Skill issue fr. On my first playthrough I kept falling back down for a while without penalty, so I was like, "It'd be nice if they forced you to keep going up somehow" then I saw the mass of hands come up lol.

Developer(+1)

Ha! Yeah, the hands were a late addition, and I'm glad we were able to get them in. For a while it was just a bar of death, and we wanted to add something that made you feel some urgency to go up, but not so urgent that you can't be thoughtful about your movement. Glad you gave our game a try. If you have time, give it a few more goes, I bet you'll get a hang of the physics before you know it~!

Super cool game, the art is amazing, controls feel juicy and chaotic but not too chaotic, easy best game for me

Developer(+1)

You are too kind, glad you stuck with it long enough to master the controls. It's so worth it.

Submitted

I liked the overall idea and it was fun to play, but I think the controls were a bit weird to get used to and use consistently.

Developer (1 edit)

Definitely takes some getting used to the shooting and physics. Thanks for the feedback and playthru. Once the mechanics click, though, the gameplay can get pretty wild!

Submitted

This is a really nutty game. The soundtrack is so at odds with the overall body horror that is this game if you really stop to think about it. Pretty tho. Check out my live review at https://www.twitch.tv/scalphamission

Developer

Laughed my ass off watching your playthru. Appreciate all the thoughtful feedback, and glad you enjoyed it.

Nice! I like it, although the squelch sounds are a little too gross for me!

Developer(+1)

hahahaha, glad you liked it. We definitely had some debates in development if they were too "squelchy."

Perhaps the expansion will have a squelch slider, where you can tune the fartiness on a scale from "Toot" to "Brutally wet"

Submitted(+1)

really enjoyable experience took me a while to figure out the mechanics tho

Developer(+1)

Glad you enjoyed it.

Now that you've got the mechanics down, I highly encourage you to try a few more times. It can be very satisfying to land some gnarly shots on enemies while yeeting through the world.

sure

Damn, really fun game. Really loved the sound design.

Keep up the good work!

Developer(+1)

Thanks, DfiB was our sound effects and music guy, produced everything himself (including writing the theme song) in Ableton. Glad you enjoyed it!

8250 is my record. Funny & easy to learn concept. Very chalanging.

Developer

Nice! Not bad at all. Glad you enjoyed it!
