Use of the limitation
I incorporated it into my theme and scoring system. Sisyphus is punished for eternity to push a boulder up a mountain. No matter how many he tries, it always falls back down. But the only way for him, for the rest of eternity, is to go back up. So you get points by going back up as high as possible.

Cookies eaten
One pack of Pim's with razberry in the last day of the project. So around 12 :)

Very clever to have thought about Sisyphus!

I found simply spamming R the most fun.

I like your thinking about limitation and adding some greek myth. Game is well balanced. The difficulty raise with time. It is nice to have superpower to destroy thing, so you can save in the bad situation. Good job. Btw It is also my first game jam :) Nice to see you there

nice game for your first entry as this also your first game as well?  once you start really moving fast it get pretty hard didn't get far enough to see if there was a max speed or not. the ground and objects speed differences makes it look like the things are falling down from the sky instead of being on the ground though. Good job and congrats on your first game jam

Great little game, minor thing but I thought the score being displayed vertical was kind of weird/harder to read. I also found a bug I think when pressing R from the menu it sometimes would get stuck between menus

Great game! I really like the concept and aesthetic. If I could give one piece of feedback, it would be to make the ground and obstacles move at the same speed so it looks more like you're going up instead of the trees and rocks falling down. However, I had a lot of fun and my highscore was 312 :)

I would be grateful if you checked out my submission as well!

Good game, it is very similar to ours.

Great job for a first entry! Check out my live review at https://www.twitch.tv/scalphamission

Thank you so much for playing it and being honest!
The bug of the background not being synced with the obstacles is very strange to me. On my side it was not happening so I can't figure out why for other people it breaks.
Either way, thank you for the feedback! The initial non-bumped ratings were fair too :)

Simple but engaging game, feels like something I would play while having some video in the back.

Congrats on the first game! I hope you are proud of what you made, I think you should be! The theming worked really well for me, Sisyphus is a great concept for an endless runner type game and it fits the limitation wonderfully!

I feel like the background should scroll at the same speed as the obstacles

Developer

Hi,
You are right that the background doesn't sink up to some people and that's very strange to me. On my side it was synced, so I can't for the life of me figure out why its not like that for everyone.
Thank you for letting me know!

The Game was nice and so was the music! The restart option had a buggi but its oki coz the game is amazing.

Congrats on your first game jam :D! It's a cool project! I like the idea of connecting the game to a myth. However,  the power was a little difficult to use because you can't see when it runs out.

This was my first jam as well! Loved your game. The ramping difficulty was nice, made for fun short sessions where I was encouraged to try and beat my previous score.

You've got lots of cool elements in here. Some better indication of the power would be nice -- I saw the orange color for the player, but there may be some clearer indications (sound effects) to show its readiness and duration.

The background was a bit dizzying at high speeds - think it's just because of the pattern/texture.

Great job, keep up the work, it's motivating to see folks nail projects like this on their first jams.

Yo, I'm glad you enjoyed my game!

Gosh I KNEW I would forget something before exporting and it turned out to be the power up sound :")). Sry about that!

Your game motivated me in return to bring some friends next time, so I hope you guys also keep up the great work!

Great work for your first jam! sounds, particles, score, screens, looks like everything is there! keep up the good work, i find participating in jams very helpful :D so i try and do this one every fortnight. unless a bigger jam interrupts.

My only critique would be that the ability, there was no way to know when it was running out, so it ran out and i died.....

Cool game. The particles and sound effects when you destroy obstacles are very neat. Also very nice that the difficulty ramps up the longer you survive. Managed to reach 655

One small note is that the power duration feels a bit short. Like I am only able to destroy 2 to 3 things before it runs out. It would be nice if it was longer or maybe the duration gets extended when you destroy something, especially since destroying stuff is fun =D

Good game overall. Congratulations on your first jam entry! Well done.

I love the myth of Sisyphus as your theme! the only thing wrong with the game is when you die, you can't play again unless you refresh the page but other than that good submission!
