Like everyone said, very beautiful game! I love the mood, the use of the theme, and the concept! I'm still not 100% sure about how everything works... Like it's not very clear to me when the valves are open/closed? What's the "stability" that's on screen? Also I felt like the numbers didn't always go the way I expected them to according to the levers and the current multiplier, so I think I missed something. But I played for a little while and enjoyed the experience! The polish is great, and I love the different states of the soul when it gets to light or too dark. All in all, amazing job!
Thanks for the feedback! Since I didnt have time for a tutorial I'll quickly run it down. The Valves have a light that shows red(closed) and green(open). If they are closed it cuts off all flow of dark/light depending on the pipe.
The Stability is how much your Balance Increases over time, so balance will increase or decrease based on the size of your "Stability".
As for the Levers, Left is for Dark (or -Stability) while Right is for Light (or +Stability)! So the number above each lever is how much that will contribute to the stability [ONLY IF the valve is open].
The modifier beside the Lever numbers also adds whatever number it is to the stability.
EXAMPLE: (Dark = -50 / Light = +75) + (Modifier = +16) == (+41 Stability per second)
Convoluted ik, but in future I plan to add a more detailed tutorial to better showcase all the features and maybe streamline them a little!
Thanks for playing my lil game :)
Love the art! Paralax and the lil screen, oh yea, good stuff.
The concept is great and great use of theme. The gameplay was nice, but it gets very easy after a while, would be cool if the rounds got shorter or something, so you always had to be on top of your game.
Nice work!
Hi!
Glad we're thinking the same thing, my initial idea was to make the game get faster and faster as it goes, floods slowly get sooner and sooner etc.
So I think considering other people have said similar things, I'll keep working on this after Jam ends to polish the gameplay and possibly include a better point system with a leader board.
Thanks for the good ideas and feedback! :)
Great game! Visually and aesthetically its very solid. Gameplay could get a lot harder as time passes, I found it a tad bit slow. Only issue I noticed outside of the 600/-600 bug was that the looping background SFX cuts weirdly to loop.
Thanks for feedback, once Jam is over ill defo fix up SFX. I originally planned for an increasingly higher paced difficulty that progresses over time. I found it a lil slow when playing it too, so its good to know I should change that :)
The presentation is excellent, crazy amount of polish for such a short jam. I think a more hands-on tutorial would've been good (which I understand is hard cause of the short time period) but that's about the only feedback I've got. Great work!
Hi! I'm defo going to make a more hands on tutorial to fully introduce everything after this jam. Thanks sm for feedback!
Very atmospheric. Gets a bit easy once you get used to it but still really fun!
Thanks! Wanted to balance the points and scaling a bit more but didnt have time. :)
looks beautiful. well done with the art! potential bug or operator error - my score halted at around 2434 mark, not sure why! had fun frantically adjusting the sliders :D
Hey thanks for feedback! I didnt get time to make a proper tutorial, but might be because the balance was past the point of gaining score. OR JUST a bug. Thanks tho! I will try fix that and I plan on redoing the points system to make it more engaging :)
Really neat art style, I love it. The game concept is pretty cool too though I was a bit confused at first, but I got the hang of it after a few tries. Well done!
Yee, I wanted to make a more concise tutorial and motive, but cus of time I wasnt able. Thanks tho!
WOW! the presentation and sound design is top notch! The gameplay is quite engaging! super atmospheric! good job!
Thank you! I tried to balance it before submission so I might change some stuff after. Thanks for feedback :)
NICE Game! The art is excellent!
Thanks :D
