Well I really really liked it! It was engaging without being too difficult, I was getting better at it with time and it had a nice tension moment when melting the ice as the water level rose. Only complaint is that the delay between ice cubes is a bit long when the container is big. Also, an in-game text saying "right-click to melt" would've been nice!

Otherwise great little game with the perfect scope for a jam. Also, in terms of visuals, I think less would've been more for this type of game, the 3D and ice texture was a bit much.

That's really weird, normally there isn't anything preventing you from doing this, just clicking on the character to select it then on the last point should work. Maybe there's a bug, I'll look into it.

Like the person below, it took me some experimentation to figure out where the thoughts should go, but then it got pretty intuitive! I like the idea and I didn't skip the animation that took you 3 hours :D (it was worth it)
I'm glad the true ending is that Gibson took Carlson under his wing. My poor Carlson hadn't eaten in day and was crushed by debt.
The game feels nice to play and I loved the different dialog options! Nice work :)

Super sweet and cuuute! The thumbnail/ending scene forming a yin-yang with the white and black ears is genius. A perfect jam game, short but well-rounded, storytelling, cute art, cute cat, cute dog, can't ask for more!

Thank you!!! Yeah there are basically no "puzzles" at this point :') Level design is not my forte, and although MiniMicro is a great minimalist engine, having to place everything in code makes it pretty tedious to implement levels with many items. Had I had two days to work on the game, I would have made a quick level editor, but I'm still happy with the result! I'm glad you liked the art style! Thank you so much for your comment :)

Ok this has to be one of the best use of the theme+limitation I've seen! Really enjoyed the game, sadly I only have a touchpad right now and I cannot get the series of light/dark steps before the green thing. I'll try again tomorrow when I actually have a mouse, but I still wanted to rate the game. I love love it! It's so clever! And the sounds effects and art are super duper cute. One of my favorite games from recent jams I've entered.

I loved the game! The concept is very neat. The lore text made me think of Cultist Simulator, which I appreciate (although I guess it's generated through AI?)
The game is awesome. I read the comment on the itch.io page about it being unfinishable as I waited to get the 750 for the "impossible" update, which is too bad. I really like this type of game, it works great for a jam, great use of the theme, the polish is very nice, I don't have too much to say really apart from GREAT JOB!

Thanks! What tricked you in the second level, if I may ask? I feel like it's not super clear that you can't interact with objects while moving (after you clicked on your character).

Thank you so much! I tried to introduce feedback with the tooltips and the cursor changes, but the game doesn't even really uses the limitations except for the third level... so far, only the human can open doors, and only the bat can fly (obv)

Thank you for playing and for your comment!

Like everyone said, very beautiful game! I love the mood, the use of the theme, and the concept! I'm still not 100% sure about how everything works... Like it's not very clear to me when the valves are open/closed? What's the "stability" that's on screen? Also I felt like the numbers didn't always go the way I expected them to according to the levers and the current multiplier, so I think I missed something. But I played for a little while and enjoyed the experience! The polish is great, and I love the different states of the soul when it gets to light or too dark. All in all, amazing job!

I loved that game and player for a little while! Good spin on the classic clicker (now a swiper?)
Feels really polished, great MiniScript game! The zombies were so cute!

I could not give five stars fast enough! Everything is great :D Cute music, sound effects, great puzzle idea, use o the theme... If you don't make it to the top three I'll be extremely surprised. The transitions were super smooth and the way the humans wandered on the tiles really helped the overall vibe and polished feeling of the game.

J'aime beaucoup votre nom de collectif aussi mdr

The sound design and music is great, and I really liked the short storytelling at the beginning and the way it presented the controls of the game! The big zombie ray felt great, especially when killing a lot of humans at once. I didn't feel much the presence of the zombies sadly.

Also I found myself a bit further from the center of the map and all the humans arrived two by two from the left so it wasn't very difficult. But at the beginning when there were loads of them at once and I had to dodge them a bit bullet hell like it was great! Overall very nice game, well done :D

Thank you for playing! I like designing puzzle games, it's easier for me to come up with ideas I guess :D

I'm glad you liked the art!

Thank you!!

Thank you! Glad you liked the art :D I tried to make the zombies friendly-looking since the gameplay itself isn't much about friendship lol

I had a good laugh at the storyline, and the drawings were great at conveying the tone lol

The concept is basic but works well, I had a good time overall! I'd play more of Bob. Maybe we could infiltrate the secret
services next time with our zombies and restore sun on our lands.

Very nice game! Super polished, good sound design, the tutorial was very clear and the controls felt intuitive and responsive. The artstyle was nice and the game felt like it had a beginning and an end. I liked it, although of course having weaker zombies so the game
doesn't get too easy would be nice (but balancing is often very difficult within the duration of a gamejam)

(1 edit)

Really amazing game, I did two playthrough and got basically the same outcomes (only saved the second patient) so I don't know if it's possible to save the first one for example (I tried!)

I loved everything, the graphics are very cool and the designs of the characters are super well done, the minigames are well integrated and the story is well written! The game is disturbing without being gory and I loved the descriptions of the dreams and the urge to bury in the ground. Interesting spin on the usual zombie thingie.

Overall, excellent game, I had a great time! Well done!

(I just wish we knew explicitely what happens to our daughter but I guess it's part of the game)

PS: love the bandaid step

I read the comments to understand what was going on! I like the idea of a sort of clicker/almost cooking game to make zombies haha

Too bad you couldn't use everything you planned, I know how that feels like... Plus MiniMicro has more limitations than "bigger" game engines so it can be challenging to quickly integrate a lot of features. I for sure had to mess around for a little bit.

I love the mood of the game by the way! All it misses is some sound, maybe a cleaner way of displaying ressources, and a tutorial :D Good job!

Omg thanks! That means a lot! The problem with the sound was on my side as you might have seen on the MiniScript server... Next time I'll make it work for sure!
Thanks for your kind words :D

I love the idea, but I would've liked a way to know what the good answer was! Maybe based on the personnality? It felt like that sometimes but some other times it was very random (when choosing between "blargh" and "blerg")

I love the aesthetics, and the designs are so good! I'd definitely
like to see a full dating sim with zombies, very nice execution of the prerequisite. And the game is very polished too!

Great concept, execution, sound design, etc...
But I couldn't figure out how to make dough and lost all my base ingredients, so I didn't get very far in the game...

Bu seriously everything is super cute and I love this type of game. Just having an option to keep the original ingredients around would be great. Also why does mixing flour and water doesn't make dough???????

Great work as always

Really like the cover art! I almost couldn't play because the game didn't scale down in itch's play window so I could only see a quarter of the screen and there was no full screen button. I had to zoom in to make the window larger lol

Very nice gamejam game, well done. The music is very cute too!

Nice game! The little visual effects and the sound effects really tie the minimalist but very efficient artstyle together. The game feels good to play and it's definitely a good scoring game. I like that it's logical that food makes you bigger and thus gives you a disadvantage. I didn't understand at which point it killed you though!

The inertia on the bullets was a bit hard to get used to, but if it was sliiiiightly less strong it'd be fine.

And you made this on Scratch! Very impressive. Great job :D

What a cute little game! The aesthetic is on point and really works well! I had to read the comments here to understand how to move the ant, I almost assumed there was a game-breaking bug (ha!) and moved on. Maybe you could write it at the top of the description?

I didn't manage to reach the queen, the timing was too short to avoid being stepped on, and I always lost all of my lives at once, I don't know why. But the concept is super fun and the ant is SO CUTE!

Very good job for the jam :D

Hi! Thanks for taking the time to write that extensive feedback, it really helps! About the seeds not sprouting, did you go to the next day by clicking the bed icon? I tried to explain in the description since we didn't have the time to make a tutorial, but in-game help other than the question mark tool that you can click on a plant with to see what's wrong would indeed be useful.

It could also be that you overwatered the seeds I think? I you haven't completed a quest yet I'd love for you to give it another try, there might be a cat in there somewhere :D

Thank you so much for taking the time to play our game and review it so thouroughly!

Hi! Thank you for playing! Not sure either, maybe you planted them all too close from each other or over-watered them? The question mark should help but it's pretty hard to click on a planted seed. Did you manage to unlock the cat?

Glad you liked the artsyle and thanks for your comment!

This game is so good. The concept is super simple but very clever and works very well! The art is super cute!

Of course I'm dumb so I didn't check the recipes right off the bat and got confused about how to make the "doubles" but once I did (it was specified in the description but I guess I can be both a dev complaining about how people don't read descriptions AND a player not reading descriptions) it was super clear.

Very very nice game, I like it very much!

OMG the concept of the game is super funny
I managed to win but I don't understand how since I got the victory screen when the boss was still midlife.

The food sprites are super cute, the idea is really fun and fits the theme and the limitation well, so great job! My only complaint is that the laser is super hard to aim, or maybe I didn't understand how to move it.

Thank you for playing! Happy to hear you liked the artstyle :D
Did you manage to "uncrisp" your plants and progress the quests or was that unclear? Thank you for the feedback, I hope you had a good time!

Super cute game, perfect for a gamejam. It looks polished, has a tutorial, sound effects and music, it feels finished which is very nice! The concept is simple but well executed and I really enjoyed the art. I think the black and white style works very well and gives it a minimalist shine.

Very good solo game, I really enjoyed playing it! I just wish there was an end scene when we reach 100 soups :D

Thank you that's so nice!! And yeah the animations are a bit long after a while (a while being like, thirty seconds x)) If I were to continue on this idea I'd definitely make them skippable/faster. Thank you for taking the time to give feedback!

Thank you for playing!!
I wanted to test your game but I get an error in my browser :( Which sucks because it looks really cool

Loooved that game! I wish some die had active effects, I really wanted to click them and, like, roll them or something. The game is really well made, the idea is very elegant and I had a great time :D

Well played!

Thank you! I actually had the idea for the "vibe" very early and I love how it turned out. Happy to hear you liked it :D

I like the storytelling! The idea of having to survive a random amount of time with random ressources is cool too, but of course I guess it suffered a bit from the lack of time (this is a gamejam after all)

What bothered me the most was the lack of feedback on the enemies (I don't think I managed to kill those armored guys a single time) and of course they go to the same speed as the player so when they caught up to you it's game over.

Overall good job! I loved the music choice, combined with the visuals it really set the mood.
